We'll have to find a club that wants him (easier than Napa I'd say) but we'd have to contribute a decent amount towards it.He won't if he is gone

I’m ok with that if we are not subsidising a large portion of his salary. He won't if he is gone
I wouldn't think Barrett would be a blatant liar but I hope he is. Doesn't he read f..king newspapers. Isn't he aware that Smith is reportedly looking for a new club with the Storm's blessing ?. If not then something is wrong big time. What so we're not even in the conversation ? Are all the hundreds of newspaper reports all bullshit ? We haven't even spoken to the Storm about who we would trade ? I hope we're not letting others get a foot in the door while we sit back and play nice. That's assuming we are going to get Smith. Barrett says otherwise at the moment.
Trent Barrett has smacked down a report claiming Canterbury have secretly signed Melbourne hooker Brandon Smith on a three-year-deal.
© Darren Pateman/AAP PHOTOS Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett has denied reports Brandon Smith has signed with the Bulldogs.
On Thursday the Bulldogs coach said he was surprised to read reports linking the Kiwi international to the club after the claim was aired on SEN radio by former NRL star Scott Sattler.
Smith has been given the all-clear from the Storm to look into his options to nab a starting No.9 position at a rival NRL club from next season, a year out from the end of his contract with the club.
And on Wednesday, Sattler said he had heard from a good source that the Bulldogs had landed one of the biggest fish available on the NRL market.
However, Barrett wasted little words in setting the record straight when asked if Smith was coming to the club.
"No, he's not. I was a bit surprised by that one. We haven't spoken to Brandon Smith," Barrett said.
When asked if he would be interested in the 24-year-old, Barrett said: "I don't think he's off contract.
Only after she gets her royalty cash..Can she put the money towards a new wig?
Spot on Superman. He isn’t the long term guy. We are far from building a champion side yet.I like Allan but the thing is bro he looks no quicker then Hoppa. He sits very low in comparison with every other fullback in the comp for speed if you were to compare them.
As long as we are not paying most of his $$!Storm?
I was thinking the same thing!!On a side note re Flanno, he must be laughing so hard tonight, Roosters have lost both Keary and Lam to leg injuries.
Barrett said that HE hadn't spoken to Smith. It doesn't mean that someone else from the club hasn't. So perhaps he hasn't lied at all.I wouldn't think Barrett would be a blatant liar but I hope he is. Doesn't he read f..king newspapers. Is Barrett maybe not interested in Smith ?. Is Barrett not interested in a new hooker in general ? Every fan has been screaming out for a new hooker for years but I sometimes wonder if our coach and admin actually feel the same ????????????????
One thing I know is no way do the majority of fans want to see us go into next season with JMK as our best 9 option. F..K THAT !
Is Barrett sitting around waiting til 2023 for Api Korisau and if so is he 110% sure we're going to get him ?
Disagree. Your fullback is basically a second 5/8 these days and I believe Cotric lacks the necessary passing game required.Swap Allan with Cotric and you will have your Rockstar fullback
Let's give the bloke a go, 2 games in under a poor forward pack going forward, I think this thread is jumping the gun, we need another hard running forward and hooker and done, hoppa,Napa of note to go and the lesser likes like Lewis gone tooPersonally no it’s not necessary for creativity if you have 2 half’s both on the ball a lot. Just somebody safe with good basic skills set , draw and pass, recognise overlap etc. which Allan has. It would be pretty poor in my opinion to splash out on a fullback right now.
Totally agree mate. Happy to see how things unfold with Allan when he is working with 2 good half’s.Let's give the bloke a go, 2 games in under a poor forward pack going forward, I think this thread is jumping the gun, we need another hard running forward and hooker and done, hoppa,Napa of note to go and the lesser likes like Lewis gone too
Weird that he’d want to waste his prime years in a position he doesn’t like on less moneySmith will be staying in Melbourne now according to Brent Read.
Maybe he wants a shot at winning another premiership. We certainly won’t be doing that in the next 3-4 years.Weird that he’d want to waste his prime years in a position he doesn’t like on less money
