Is there some kind of competition between the refs to see who can blow the most penalties during a game?

WTF is wrong with them, they seem to want to make themselves known during the game at every opportunity !

Is anyone lee as sick of them as I am ? They keep ruining the flow of the game.

They blew us up for 2 forward passes today. Didnt get to see a reply, but they both look like great balls. Not to sure if they were both off Hodkinson or 1 was off Reynolds. Both were sweet cut out passes, hit the centre on the chest. Sounded like the linesman made the call. Not too sure if it was forward but was very annoying to get it blown back when it looked like it came back out of the hands.

The refs have a pre conceived penalty process in their heads (as shown in last years Newcastle game) because they are playing at brookvale, the bulldogs are an easy target, but still there normally is some kind of square up and we didn't get an answer to the sea eagles run of penaltys until extra time when Stewart lifted above the horizontal and flipped our player.

Thing is, the NRL state clearly that a referee cannot bet on a match. That's a fair rule.

What's to stop them giving $500 to a mate and getting them to put it on a side at the TAB? They'd know how much and what bets were put on what team, and it's a lovely way to supplement an income.

The NRL claims to have safeguards in place, but they are easily worked around. How are the NRL going to stop John Doe the ref going to Billy Bettingpants house and getting him to thorow a few hundred on another club?

Luckily enough we were able to come away with the win but ffs the performances from the refs seem to be getting worse week by week

When foran put the chip thru in the lead up to second last try hodkinson or tolman went back to retrieve the ball and two manly players pushed him right off it 5 metres away from the ref and he said nothing but 6 more.
Every time josh morris or whoever pushed a manly player back in defence refs call held straight away but when barba gets it they forget to call held. Both his feet were off the ground in the first place which constitutes a held tackle.

Seems to be that we get screwed in all leagues. I don't think these nuffties in charge of our NSW cup game against the tigers have ever refereed before or watched a game of league. 3 tries scored off deliberate forward passes, as well as many other blatant calls going against us. This game is an absolute joke!!
