Trindall is exactly what we need also. We don’t need the marquee 7.

Trindall is a solid game managing half. He had a good kicking game. He is also a good age.

He wouldn’t command marquee dollars either. It’s an absolute no brainer for me.
I know contracts dont mean much but Trindall happily extended his contract at the beginning of the year till end of 2025 bc he says he wanted to learn more off Fitzgibbon and the Sharks system. He will probably take Moylans place in 2024?

What we need tho :grinning:

What we need is good props to get us on the front foot. Flanno is a utility off the bench at best.
Exactly, Why would we even want him on the bench in f.g? Surely better options exist and Ryan Gray is a better 9 just has no first grade experience.

Yeah I don’t want him on the bench for us we have other options hopefully including BBO who is now back. Other teams might find him useful off the bench or he becomes dead wood like most of the players we have let go the last 3 years.

This isn’t fantasy football like Manchester City where we can spend ludicrous amounts of money.

Ryan Gray was going great until injured. Hopefully he keeps progressing.

Give it another 10 to 20 years Rugba League will be in full crisis mode. AFL and Soccer will dominate the junior participation if they aren’t already.
Exactly my thoughts mate, personally I think it will be even less than 10 years, The need to promote the game and continually show only the highlights of each game is proof enough for me,
I hope our club is making contingencies plans for when that time comes

Almost certainly off to the Dragons I'd imagine where he can fulfil a role i guess, we won't be re-signing him.
BBO is an option too if he doesn't get a go at 7, not sure Nu Brown has done enough to get another year but he could fill that 14 role too.

I don’t mind Nu as a utility but I’d say Gus & Ciro have probably earmarked BBO as a utility and possibly Rajab. I’m less worried about that I think we will get there it’s just a slow burn. The situation with our middles needs to be addressed IMO.

It’s funny how money is the one thing that can so quickly change those thoughts & comments though wendog.

Ben Hunt only resigned a 2 year contract 6 months ago and I’m sure your not naive enough to think he wants out just because of the Hook situation … that’s all 100% about being able to get a bigger chunk of money before retirement ..

Offer Trindall a good contract to show trust and a good chunk of money and all of a sudden he’ll be saying he’s so looking forward to being coached by Ciraldo ..

The Moylan narrative doesn’t fly, Moylan’s prob still got 2, maybe even 3 years in him, and no way is Trindall a running 6, he’s a clear cut 7 through and through .. and I can’t see them moving their Dally M 7 …

Yeah who knows what can be done. We get cynical on here but ideas and suggestions to improve the team is what we care about.

I find it really hard to comprehend that next season we’ll have arguably the best 2 centres in the comp, and neither will be playing in those positions ..

If you had a Roosters, Sharks, Souths type bloated roster I can understand it, but we are such a struggling side, wouldn’t you think we’d put the best players in their best positions?

If we’d really gone hard for a spine .. of

9 Mahoney
6 Averillo
7 Trindall
1 bought a specialist older seasoned FB till Pap’s is ready

Ran with centres of

Burton
Crichton

Wingers

Kiraz and JAC

Outside backs of

Kikau
Preston ..

That we wouldn’t be right up top 6 on the ladder next year ?

With Brooks going to Manly I wonder if we can make Daly Cherry Evans get a release and come to us?

I honestly rate him very highly.
