We look so predictable when we play deep

I don't know why Barrett doesn't say something about our last tackle options, every week it's been the same kicks which don't put any pressure on the fb and wingers, and we're not attempting to put them in their in goal.

We are so slow in everything we do. Super predictable. I think a lot comes down to the playing personnel more than coaching. Put simply most teams are stacked with big quick athletes. We don’t have a single player you would put in that category.

Not having a quality 9 is the biggest jigsaw piece we need to fix. Pay overs and go and get Cheese NOW.

Also frustrated by the lack of kicking variety in the attacking 20. The cross field bomb is every set. And they never work.

I'd argue more tries are scored off a quick play the ball with teams playing flat and direct. Top teams play both, we're obviously not a top team. Just play to our level and build of confidence/combinations from there.

We do have quick play the balls, but like you said we just play so slow and rarely take advantage of them. We're just ineffective with the ball and Baz needs to pull his finger out and sort it.

We ask zero questions of the defence whether we play flat or deep.

When we play flat everyone is standing still and gets dominated by the defence.

When we do play with some depth our speed of play and crispness is in slow motion.

The top teams play with depth with players always in quick motion. They don’t play flat.

We play reserve grade speed and simply cannot compete. A flat attack though will win is nothing.

Seemed like we were pushing up as a whole more in attack tonight though

A quality number 9, I hope we don't just go and buy an average number 9, we need a top class hooker.

Said this before but until some confidence can be instilled in this team, expect more of the same. We know all of these players can do better and in fact we have seen them do better but for some reason their confidence is shit level, not sure what the answer is but maybe we are one win away from a lot better, who knows

i was thinking the same thing .. surely we have grounds for exemption ?? and you can add Meaney to that injury list, albeit short term..

Also i dont understand why we'd replace an outside back spot in the top 30 with a prop forward??

Surely the top 30 should be a balance of outside backs and forwards ?? we seem to have a massive imbalance ...

Well last year points for/against was -222 in 20 Rounds.

This year we are -140 after 5 Rounds.

We are a good chance.

The new rules reward the quick ruck, you can push through the middle and create or get a 6 again/ penalty. I dont care who is at dummyhalf but they simply need to run more when we get the quick ruck, gives so many more opportunities, we dont have the players to execute the deep sweeping plays with success.

Our forwards need to run between defenders or create a one on one to get to there bellies to allow them to get up quicker for a faster play the ball.
In this you need a hooker/half who can take them to the line and feed them into those spaces to get them one on one or between shoulders of defence. On the back of that this so called hooker/half needs to trail closely behind to be there for the quick play the ball or at least be there to support.
One out running has to stop. The defence don’t have any other decisions to make other than, here he comes straight at us and put 2-3 tacklers on him, put him on his back and dominate then take there sweet arse time getting off him.

I watched our passing game real close over past few weeks and the amount of passes that did not hit the mark is alarming. We want to win games but if the basic skill level is not even up to scratch then every game is gonna be a struggle...what the fuck do they do at training

What difference will depth in our attack make?? Imagine having the great Hoppa or Elliot running onto a ball - by the time the ball hits them on the chest the defense will be up in their face, we will lose meters lol
