Bro 400k? he is on ALOT more than that. $650k and that's probably undervaluing his deal. He re-signed for a mammoth amount and it was spoken about for ages at the $$$ value the previous admin put on him.
Ok, do you believe there's a place for him on this team moving forward? let's not worry about the remainder of this season. Moving forward.. do we want JJ playing on next season? IF so than what does he offer?
It makes little sense to get rid of him because we will have to pay freight. Last year at the club for a guy who is a one club player, I think an exception can be made for him.
If the side has the right balance yes he can be useful. Make 40-50 tackles a game, 10 hit ups and play 60 minutes. Everything else he is asked to do is due to a desperate coach trying to patch up a leaking ship.

Perhaps start him off the bench then? give him 20 mins either side of the halftime break. He might have more to offer and a bigger impact other than just be a tackling machine.

he's on $700k isnt he? less the $200k allowance, $500k on cap
According to Zero tackle it’s 600k. And due to his loyalty we get the 200k long serving player allowance so really if the only 2 options are to keep him or sack him his impact on the cap is 400k.

for Gods sake we have Allen Flanagan RFM on more money and Hetherington and Waddel on similar money.

Now that Trent made his call to leave, the rest of the coaching staff can follow suit immediately!

Take the 200k long service player allowance away which we would lose if we were to sack him and it’s more or less 400k.
You recon he’s even worth 400k? Been awful for 3 seasons. Been a great servant but he’s cooked

Like I said if you weigh up the 2 options, keeping him on 400k cap space is the better option. Simplify his role and he will do the job and then next year he can retire or go ESL.

The 200k thing is a myth
U get the 200k for having the player but it can be spread across the squad. Just cause he makes us eligible for the 200k doesn't mean we should accept him being overpaid by 200k

It is a waste of money. 400k can get a solid centre, or help get a halfback. It was no surprise when Jackson wasn’t there we played our best game of the season

he's not even worth $200k let alone the remainder of his salary. if he wants to go around again he needs to be given a tap on the shoulder

It’s not a myth because everyone is calling for him to be sacked ao we would lose it.

He is not on the top of the list for overpaid players in the squad, far from it. And he is the only one who has given his career to the club so they should all go before him.
