Cody Walker the subject of $20,000 blackmail as Rabbitohs confirm police investigation

An incident involving Cody Walker is the subject of a police investigation following reports the South Sydney star is being blackmailed.

Channel Nine's Danny Weidler first revealed on Sunday Walker had approached police stating he's been blackmailed. Walker reportedly claims he was requested to send $20,000 or risk having videos of him kicking a person in a fight leaked to media.

"South Sydney star Cody Walker has told police today he is being blackmailed," Weidler tweeted. "He has been asked for $20k or a video of him kicking a standing man in a fight will be released to the media. Souths advised him to speak to police and the Integrity Unit."

The Rabbitohs have since responded to the reports, confirming the matter had been forwarded to the NRL's Integrity Unit.

Just heard BUZZ on the radio saying it is probably a nothing because the police not advised about it as it was not known until now ( the alleged incident that is that took place apparently in October last year).
Then proceeded to carry on about Wayne Bennett getting the best out of Cody Walker for the recommencement of the game as he is a "great man manager".
I guess if vision surfaces of the incident it will be really interesting to see exactly what took place and whether or not Walker was baited into it for the purpose of black mail or whether there is something a bit more sinister.
