Oh, I was getting confused with the other stadium (the one with the running track)
Yeh ozman is correct. Stadium Australia is Telstra Stadium, it was called Stadium Australia before tesltra got the naming rights.
AFter the olympics they took out the running track and put the east and west stands on hydrolic rollers. This enables them to roll the seats back to form an oval field (instead of the rectangular NRL, Union, Soccer field) and play Cricket or AFL on it.
They then took off the top of the north and south wing stands and put a roof over them. This cut the overall capacity from 110,000 to 83,000 but it means that like 83% of the stadium is undercover.
Apparantly the stadium is also built so that a roof can be put over the top but they probly wont put it on untill the stadium is making a higher profit.
