How about we get what we need more first like a halfback and or a hooker.
Its no point signing good outside backs unless you have a decent spine to put them into attacking field positions constantly as well as putting them into holes or on the outside of defenders etc.
Our outside backs actually make our halves look worse than they are. Outside of Remis Smith there is a genuine lack of speed or line break material. We made a grand final in 2012 with a fairly uncreative halves pairing. We did this based on a speedy backline. So we need dangerous outside backs just as much as we need halves.

Said it many times, elite centres make mediocre halves look good. We need some elite centres badly

On the outer : james Roberts, Curtis Scott.
All of a sudden 2 centres have become available you would think.
2 weeks ago there was nothing out there.
What are we waiting for....for these 2 to be given a queens medal for achievements in the community. We are a football team ..sign them up

Curtis Scott and Jesse Ramien please. Both young, both better than what we have. Both signed up to deals at current club so there the chance to get another club to pay some of their wages? Yes please!!
As a struggling club I don’t see why this is even a question. Take any steps necessary to improve the squad

NO. If storm can't get him to live up to the hype i don't see how pay will achoeve anything. And last thing we need is more bad media

Is he any good though for the price? The only positive I’ve seen from him is smacking Dylan Walker
Absolutely worth it for that reason alone.
2 1/2 years to run on contract, storm wouldn't be letting him go unless there are some real concerns. not sure we need that coming to the club
Ah fuck it, the media will find reasons to shit on us anyway. At least get some talent on the field for the trouble.

Look the thing is Bellamy will need to watch how he goes about this. Addo Carr is one of Curtis’s best mates an Curtic Brodie Croft, Brandon Smith, Joe Stimson all live together. Munster an Welch are also best mates with Curtis. He better be wise the way he goes above it

Maybe that was the reason behind Pay meeting with Stimson

Roberts if he's going anywhere it's Souths (and with that - ending any speculation of Latrell > Souths).
Scott will probably end up replacing Roberts.

We don't have the pulling power or attraction that other clubs have when signing players... simple as that.

WB is the only one that wants him at the club.

Their board are weary of using that amount of salary cap space on a loose cannon off field. (WB doesn't have the power at Souths that he had at the Broncos)

Souths generally don't spend a lot on their backs (Inglis was the last).

I wouldn't sign Roberts anyway unless it was a bargain basement price.
Yes, he was selected for Origin, but hes hot and cold and seems to have recurring attitude and off-field issues.

Roberts is a troubled soul and although he has hit very high marks he will never realise his true potential. The question is then, do we want to be a part of that? Especially considering it would seem we have seen his best already.

What would make it worth thinking about would be the price tag and I fear he would still be asking marquee dollars = very high risk!

He's a fast powerful ball runner, but lacks the intelligence to be a truly amazing centre. Very one dimensional.

Compared to Latrell who is not as fast, but has natural ability that can't be coached.

its an extremely easy equation for the bulldogs..

We can afford a cheap gamble ... we cannot afford an expensive gamble..

we can only put decent money of a sure thing moving forward in the short term..

The only thing Roberts has going for him is his speed, aside from that he's a defensive liability who continually goes missing throughout games. One of the most fortunate players to have played origin imo.

Mitchell beats him in every capicity
