The Canberra Raiders have offered NSW Blues winger Nick Cotric a three-year deal, but are still waiting to hear back from his manager.

Canterbury are also chasing the Raiders winger, who has quickly become one of the best flyers in the NRL since making his debut at the start of the 2017 season.

The Raiders want Cotric to follow in the footsteps of co-captain Jarrod Croker to become a one-club player. He's off-contract at the end of the season, but a three-year deal would see him stay in Canberra until at least the end of 2023.

Raiders recruitment boss Peter Mulholland said they were still waiting to hear back from Cotric's manager, Sam Ayoub. "There's an offer on the table he's obviously considering. We'll see where we go with it," Mulholland said. "You've got to compete in the market place and we've put an offer forward we believe is what he's worth."

Mulholland said they might need to bolster their second-row stocks following John Bateman's announcement he would be leaving the Raiders at the end of the season. Bateman signed a three-year contract until the end of 2021, but his manager has agitated to get him out of it.

The Raiders allowed Bateman to test his value on the open market and he told the club on Tuesday this would be his last season. But they have some good depth in edge forwards with Joe Tapine and Elliott Whitehead both internationals, while Hudson Young's also highly regarded by the Raiders.

The Raiders have signed young Wigan forward Harry Rushton on a three-year deal, while they also have Kai O'Donnell on their books. O'Donnell's been named in the Raiders' 21 several times this season already, but was yet to make his NRL debut. "You've got Hudson, you've got Joe Tapine, you've got Elliott. It's probably one position we'll look at," Mulholland said.

They're offering him what he's worth. If they don't offer more than he's worth (meet in the middle) and we're serious about getting him (overs) I don't see why we don't. I think it's time to break the hearts of some Raiders supporters. We've lost our best players so it's your turn :D .
