Headgear doesn't stop concussions just look at Ponga for example. They are more of a security blanket.

Imo you can fuck your body or mind up in many jobs that pay a lot less than being an nrl player. Its part of earning a living. It's not like u dont know going in u can get concussions or fuck your body up playing. A bog average player earns more than most of us. You could say they have danger money in their pay.

It's also why I think it's bad form when ex players sue after they retire for fucking themselves up a bit playing. Well anyone post 2000 anyway, when players really started getting paid.

Stats i read last week, players with head gear had more concussions than players without.
headgear just stops facial injuries not concussion
Lol. It's abit like the construction industry.
You'll find that you'll bump your head more often with the hard hat on, than without it.

It's to do with peripheral vision and overall knowledge of body dimensions. The visor and added thickness of the hat make you bump it on objects you'd normally see or feel you would clear.

headgears stop cuts and prevent cauliflower ears, they do not lesson concussions. concussions occur from the brain bouncing around in the skull. hence why they outlawed shoulder charges even if there's no contact with the head
