I doubt it's true but he's a handy player. Came through as a half but trained to play 9 at Manly this year. Des has preferred Croker over Cust, though with Des's form on assessing 9's based on letting Cook and Ennis go that's not such a bad thing.
Considering we have Flanagan, Wakeham, Burton and BBO as halves options in 2022 if he has signed it would be for an opportunity to play 9.

Gould is smoke & Mirrors. He says and denies things one day and then it happens the next. Take anything Gus says with a grain of salt.

Cust is a much bettter option than anyone we currently have.

A half back forced to play hooker out of necessity due to Manly 9 woes.
I don't mind this signing at all.
Much better than all our current half-back options.
