The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are thrilled to welcome the news announced by the NRL and ARLC today, that the Bulldogs will enter the NRLW in 2025.

Over the past two years, the Bulldogs have invested substantially in their female Academy programs, organising and delivering a series of development initiatives to ensure that our Club is NRLW-entry ready.

"The Bulldogs is a proud Club with a rich history steeped in community bonds, eight Premiership titles and a commitment to unity through rugby league," said CEO Aaron Warburton.

"In 2025, not only will we celebrate 90 years of this proud Club but we will celebrate our inaugural NRLW team. This is a momentous occasion for our Club and something we couldn't be prouder to have achieved."

General Manager of Football, Phil Gould added: "We have worked extremely hard to get to this position and it is very rewarding to see the Bulldogs contributing to the growth of the women's game at all levels.

"This announcement rewards the efforts of all of our staff and female pathways players, who now like their idols in the men's game, have a complete pathway to play at the most elite level. This is a wonderful achievement and something our blue-and-white faithful should be extremely excited about."

While the legacy for women in the blue and white is just getting started, the formal announcement by the NRL and ARLC today marks a significant milestone in what promises to be a bright future for the Bulldogs who now offer a complete pathway from local junior league and satellite clinics, through to the NRLW in 2025.

Over the coming weeks, the Bulldogs will work to formalise their NRLW plans for the future, remaining ever steadfast in their commitment to the growth and success of the women's game

Congrats to the club on getting their application accepted. I don't know if the NRLW will ever approach the popularity of the men's game. But it's good that the NRL has created these opportunities.

The NRL might let us win tomorrow based on this announcement to justify giving our licence to enter the women's comp.

Great result for the club. The more female supporters that continue to support the bulldogs the better. There is a huge female market out there, and we need to capitalise on it.
Good news for the club but if we're honest with each other there's not much of a care factor about the NRLW code.

I agree. Yet it will create a larger supporter base for men’s game imo.

Some of the female props wouldn't look out of place in the men's team

Great to see us in the NRLW. I don't mind watching it. The quality is getting better and it's usually decent open footy. Much better than Union or AFL if there's no NRL on. The product needs to pay for itself but I reckon it will and is worth investing in, even if it's not for everyone.
