Long service is after 8 years continuous in the NRL. This is his 8th year so it hasn't started, but perhaps you should have spent more time re-reading the cap because the $200k allowance is a total allowance for the club no matter how many players have achieved it and we already have JMoz. There is no chance Eastwood would be insulted by offering him $150k. He is a $300k min player. His long service dispensation started in 2018.
He re-arrived to Belmore in 2011. Like I said I think this is Des reasoning for the heavy backending.
From my understanding, the salary cap in essence gets a slightly higher pool to work with.
Teams can get the dispensation from one player, and use it elsewhere. Years of reading about the cap is why I know this.
If Eastwood plays at 150. Essentially hes a free player. He doesnt get the extra money, that can be reinvested to a younger player or to top up a superstar. Which makes sense.
Eastwood gets a new contract despite being used goods and the club is rewarded for keeping him round, in a way that doesnt diminish the pipeline.
Not even on a minimum wage?He won’t be re-signed

Minimum salary for 2018 is $103k!I’d keep him on 80k which is about market value id say
He’s not going from 600k plus to 100k I can assure youNot even on a minimum wage?
Sit on the fence reply.....I am sorry to say, the sooner he departs or retires the better for the club moving forward.as others have said, happy for him to stay on minimum wage as depth, but its time to concentrate on youth ..
I'm really not interested in your thoughts tbh ..Sit on the fence reply.....I am sorry to say, the sooner he departs or retires the better for the club moving forward.
And with respect to Greg, he's probably not CEO materialI don't think Eastwood would mind getting a pay cut to stay at the club. 250- 300k is still a decent salary. Getting paid more than most CEOs..
