So many middle eastern kids yet none are filtering through

The 2020 side were disappointing with the exception of Danny Ghantous - not sure where he will be next year.

Theres nothing much wrong with those kids but there competing against for example islander kids who are bigger, bigger legs, thighs etc. Look at the HM doggies team, they tower against other teams and selectors seem to choose kids with abit of meat on them

Size isn’t everything though. Are they picking the best footy players?

Hey mate, i thought we did well. One of the outgoing directors mentioned they made gf in this grade as one of their achiements.
Another question, didnt we have o'neil playing half and apparently very promising. Where is he now? Cheers

Last two years they went ok - 2018 and 2019 - 2018 i think made the gf - but 2020 not so good in terms of results ( i think 2 wins 2 losses and a draw the losses were big losses from memory) but most disappointing were the actual on field performances. The team was changed around a lot
Oneil played a few games this year.

HM were very good this year

2018 loss to a Penrith side that hade Burton , Chricton and Staines. Dogs had - Talau, Averillo and Topine

That’s incorrect, they were the team to beat this year, and this is coming from another teams coach

Which bit is incorrect?
The 2 wins 2 losses record for this year, the fact thye got smashed by newcastle 48 - 18 and Manly 34 - 8, one of their wins was against the WA Pirates, Oneil played a few games, team being changed a lot?
Love to know the other coach who had that view - mustn't have seen Manly or Newcastle play
When the comp got cancelled the Dogs were 11th
Harold Matts were playing extremely well - would be considered by many to be the team to beat

My apologies, I was referring to Matt’s. They had a gun side

The 2020 side had more than just Ghantous making impact on the squad. The team didn’t perform as well as expected because they weren’t playing their strongest players. Yes Ghantous is an exceptional player, but he too didnt get to show his full ability because he was coming off the bench. You also had Lipoi who is outstanding as well coming off the bench. Guaranteed, if their strongest players .... returning players played, the teams outcome would’ve been a hell of a lot better. You had first timer rep players getting starting spots who had no right being on that field as starters let alone getting as much time on as they did. These same players like to run their mouths during the game cause the team has scored and end up losing the game and look stupid. They could’ve learnt a few things from returning players but instead were up themselves and didn’t wanna take the guidance.

Ghantous is training with the flegg. Excelled against the WA pirates in the Ball R1 but missed about 50 tackles in the next 4 games. Didnt need to trial for Ball but given he is about 4 foot 10 and an ordinary defender, not sure why the hype.

I'm just basing it on onfield performance. The team disappointed.Do you know why the selection decisions were made. It was evident in some games that two or three were just not good enough but they continually got game time. Don't want to mention names.

There are names that I don’t want to mention either. I dont know exactly, but word is some players made the squad because of connections.

Looks like the club has identified a weakness in the backs for this age group. Good to see club rewarding a few players from the CRL pathways.
