Really pisses me off when clubs jump at the chance to sign a bloke who's been sacked from his club. Meanwhile, we take the moral high ground and decline the chance to house their "redemption".
im with ping pong king!!!

I know Jackson has played lock for both Country and NSW but personally i don't think lock is his position at all.

Cook. Reynolds doesn't even make my starting side. The **** will just get suspended and disrupt our lineup even more. Cook is the only genuine hooker at the club, if he flops next week then **** knows.

Lock is him all over tbh. Throw in the reduced interchange next season and his defensive workrate and agility through the middle will be massive for us. For me he will never be a top edge player, but i believe he could be elite at lock.

When a player is sacked from a club for being a dickhead, he should sit out the remainder of his contract period as well as punishment. But the NRL don't have any balls.
So if you lost your job for making a bad decision does that mean no one should be allowed to hire you.

I get that these young footballers can do stupid stuff but some of these guys are not role models and never will be. That should not mean they should be barred from playing.

Yeah i'm not convinced even with the reduction of the interchange. I guess there are two types of locks, the tackling lock who does a thousand tackles every game and than the lock who can hit the line hard/break the line and pop offloads all day long(even add in a bit of ball work). I think the latter is more effective and beastwood does a good job of that but Jackson doesn't. Not saying by any stretch that Jackson is no good but i don't think he fills that roll at lock that des is looking for, hence why des never plays him there.

Only because Des is obsessed with having 3 props on the field atm.... And its not as if Jackson struggles to break tackles or ball play anyway. He would do a great job at lock in both attack and defence. Eastwood can easily play off the bench and cover lock/frontrow and use his late footwork to eat some metres. Playing Jackson tight will also allow us to bring in a more explosive edge forward.

All good, we will have to agree to disagree on this one ;) This certainly is not a shot at Jackson in anyway, in my book he starts in the second row every day of the week.

I prefer if we had a specialist hooker slot in rather than a forward, I'll take a half playing at hooker aswell .

If Cook does get the role I hope his fitness can hold up and he uses his speed to get us going, we need to make as much meters as we can against the easily marched up field for no reason team...

As an NRL rugby league team Souths would make a great marching band, led by the trumpeting Maxwell Not Smart.

some similarities so far between 2006 broncos (premiers 2006) and 2015 bulldogs (hopefully premiers 2015).

- Eastwood scored double in a match.
- 2006 premiers lost their first choice hooker midway throw the season.
- 2006 premiers played their last game against warriors at home.
Wouldnt it be nice if we flogged them in the prelim final like they did to us

I would actually start with Jackson at hooker, especially in the first 25-30 minutes as this will be the most physical part of the game. Jackson will strengthen the defence in the middle. After 25-30 minutes when the Souths pack starts to tire a little, I would bring in Cook and use his speed to get out of dummy half.
I could honestly see him having an impact similar to Granville from the Cowboys.

Forget any idea of watching cook run from dummy half, he will be expected to stick to the structures.

I agree, wish and hope des lets him play whats in front of him because he will kill the South's forwards with his explosive speed but with des and is game plan who bloody knows what he will be allowed to do
