Don't overspend too much money on players & don't pay 5/8th money to a centre etc.
That’s a bit rich coming from you. How much did Payne Haas get again? That’s 1.5 times elite halfback money on a prop

Based on the above, it's more proof that the NRL fucked everything up by raising the cap so much and adding a 17th team. They've killed the market. It's shit timing for us when we finally have so much cap space and no one to spend it on. That's why we've ended up with so many scrap heap type signings to try and get to 95% of the cap.
Tell that to the knobs on here whinging that Gus is not signing anyone worthwhile.
Our recruitment compared to other teams for next year is one of the best especially if Xerri can start from where he left off.

Legitimately of course...

Only what he is worth.

Haas actually earns his money each week.
Not doubting he is the best prop in the game. But when the time comes to upgrade players like Walsh and Mam there will be no money left. Not forgetting daddy’s boy either

For along time I thought that Gus's comments about our club were not always favourable, after our club signed him I realised that his hate was most likely direct against the Moores and Andersons, who either left of their own accord or were pushed out to make way for Gus, I am certain that Gus would never have come if the Andersons were still here.
My concerns about him now is his failure to sign any decent middle forward, no team would be successfull without a few good props, and his past relation with Politis.

The Broncos have money put aside for them.

Though doesn't mean they will re-sign.

Wasn’t it one 1/2 years?
Willing to give sexton a chance he was one of the best prospects coming through made the Australian schoolboys team. Give him a better side around him and let's see how he goes. There will be real pressure on him and Burton as well with Hutch in the team, a proven nrl player not a kid making his debut.

So Salmon, Hutcho, and Turpin, all not good enough to make the final 17 for their clubs this week.
Kurt Mann wearing the 14.

Every time we unearth someone with potential the media hounds click into gear and we are forced to pay overs for retention.
Every time we are rumoured to be looking at 'x' player the media hounds click into gear listing the reasons why they should steer clear of Canterbury
Every time we release a player the media hounds click into gear amd become the underperforming or white anting players advocate.
Every time we drop a player 'this masthead' style journalism rears it's dog shit looking head again querying why it's never the players fault.

Every. Time. This has been going on since well before we are where we are and it's contributed to our downfall and massively affecting recruitment.

Signing a player such as Chricton should be celebrated even if we need to fill other positions more urgently. We still have to spend the cap anyways. It's what's available and the more we need a player in 'x' position the harder the masthead fuckheads will work against us.

Where is all this constant type of doom and gloom reporting from all angles against other anchored to the bottom of the ladder or underperforming clubs?

Most of them barely good enough to make our 17 which is the most bizarre thing.

It’s like the club I’ve just realised the team needs experience and now there is nobody on the market except ‘experienced dregs’

And potentially blocking the pathway for some of our better juniors coming thru. One or two experienced role players to plug holes yes but we appear to have gone overboard.
