It's designed that if you finish 4th or 5th you basically have to beat everyone to earn a GF win.

JRL uses the top 5 system.

The ARL used it until 1995 when they changed to the top 8.

In 1994 we were the minor premiers so had a bye week 1. Beat Canberra 19-18 in week 2. By the time we had to play the GF we had played 1 game in a month. That's why Canberra beat us so easy I believe.

Both games are scheduled for Saturday. Fox Sports are showing the NRLW instead, so it won't be them! 9 haven't shown any this year either.

Shame we didn't get into 3rd and missed out by only 8 points on F/A. Panthers would be ripe for the picking with, i assume a bunch of players out due to the NRL team resting a heap of players.

it will be interesting what they do this week in regards to selections. Do they drop back Edwards and ZDC etc for reserve grade final and stack the team or pick the best first grade team and just hope we win the reserve grade game. TPJ would comeback in for Edwards, his stats were huge on the weekend. ZDC offers nothing so he is no loss, he should be playing in the Massey Cup GF this weekend.

It was such a deliberate 2-on-1 strip as well. Okunbour dropped it with the line wide open in the opening minutes and we had one called back on the stroke of halftime for a forward pass. I think we were the better team on the day and if we can go toe to toe with them playing for the minor premiership then there is no reason we cant go all the way,
