Karl has been fantastic to start...most importantly his ball playing. Has thrown a couple out the back on the mark and then puts Gabrael away next play with a short ball off the hip after engaging the defence who finds Mazzone in the corner.

Really impressive.

He's already a better playmaker than Burton, far more knowledgeable and tidier skillset. Just look at his highlights from previous years and he dismantles defences with both skill and power.

My main man Mazzone two tries. Watched this kid play in NSW Cup against the Manly feeder club and he was phenomenal. Scored that day too, saved a try and got a nasty head knock but cleared to play on. One tough young fella.

Agree, though I think it was more they didn’t want to look foolish about spending 500k for a kid and not play him. He just needed to develop where he is. He’ll be a gun in the NRL in 2025.

Burton knows how to attack space but he doesn't know how to create it. Karl can do both.

We need to be better than this, can't keep making the same mistakes over and over again with young talent. I find it bizarre that Gus has come out and said he's a lock....he looked like an out and out 5/8 when we signed him and he still looks like an out and out 5/8 now.

Kid is a 5/8 and will never be a lock. Its pure stupidity to think he is a lock
