Has that changed even 1mm since Gould's outburst? You can bet Rothfield will be doubling down after Gould hammered him and his cohorts, once he comes out of his totally comatose Xmas and New Year booze fest of course.

Always a Bulldog
Probabaly not, damned if you do damned if you dont. I am pretty sure Gus has drunkfield covered..

We've been copping it from The Daily Tellacrap for two and a half decades, you'd think they would've mellowed out just a little,
Nah they just relentlessly keep on going and going and as soon as Gus returns the serve ( good on him ) some of us on TK wants him to play The Royal's Game "Pretend it's not there and it will go away"
Well, for 2 and half decades it didn't and I have every reason to believe it never will.
Comes a time when you have to draw the line...Stand up and be counted
Bulldogs general manager of football Phil Gould has blasted a News Corp report claiming the club had tried to offload halfback Kyle Flanagan and failed.

"Canterbury are set to pay Kyle Flanagan almost $500,000 to play reserve grade as the club has failed to offload the unwanted halfback," the Daily Telegraph reported.

"The Bulldogs have been unable to find a club willing to take Flanagan off its hands and will have to keep him at the club on a reported salary of $450,000.

"Flanagan's kicking game could eventually get him back into the top grade.

"Flanagan is at long odds to start the season in the NRL."

Gould retweeted a Fox League article based on and linking to the Daily Telegraph report, slamming the claim.

"This report is totally incorrect," Gould wrote on Twitter.

"Kyle Flanagan has never been offered to other clubs. Kyle has never been asked to seek another club. As for starting the year in reserve grade, Kyle is one of four NRL-quality halfbacks on our roster. We haven't played a trial game yet."

Flanagan joined the Bulldogs on a three-year deal ahead of the 2021 NRL season after being cut from the Roosters before the end of his contract.

The former Rooster and Shark was benched during the Bulldogs' ninth-round clash with the Dragons and broke down in tears in a press conference while discussing his demotion.

Flanagan only played another four top-grade games after being punted from the team, starting at halfback or five-eighth.

Prized recruit Matt Burton and youngster Jake Averillo are expected to start in the halves for the Bulldogs in the opening round of the 2022 season.
The Bulldogs are a proud club with a rich history stretching back to 1935, but they haven't played finals footy since 2016.

Canterbury have been very active in the transfer market in recent times, securing Burton, Josh Addo-Carr, Brent Naden, Matt Dufty, Paul Vaughan, Tevita Pangai Junior, Josh Cook, Max King and Braidon Burns.

One of Gus’s toughest assignments since he arrived is to convince that delusional dud Kyle Flanagan that he’s not good enough and he has no future at our club and is taking up cap space.
If he can pull this off then tricking another cub into taking this dud will be a walk in the park.
Im hearing Kyle is just not getting the “message” .

Bullshit, “not getting the message” fark off. What farkin message, the one the says lift your game or you’ll be playing for Mounties. FMD he got that message load and clear last year. He didn’t have an off season and trained pretty much every day, ElMasri has been filling in for Halligan in the goal kicking training, Shifty has been working with him and Barrett has him with the other halves working on lots of drills, plays and combos.

Plenty of messages given, received and understood.

Always a Bulldog

Kyle had plenty of time last year to show us 'something' and although our squad was poor, he showed absolutely 'nothing'.
Thats it....even I could see it and I know fuck all.

Avo showed some improvement, now has some experience, was the best of an average bunch ( halfback position at the time ) so would seem logical to invest/prepare him for the 7 this year?

This talk of getting our moneys worth from Kyle is madness.
Why are we here? To win games not extract blood from a stone.
Who cares what he is on its done now.

In saying that if Im completely wrong, Kyle miraculously kills it at training and trials and Baz n Gus give him the gig then so be it. Couldnt ask for a better outcome. I just want whats best for the team.

And we all know Gus is a master chess player, couldnt care if he twists words or tells porkies. Shop him, dont shop him thats Gus's job to sort out. Im sure Gus is all for the greater good for the Bulldogs.

Andrew John’s went out of his way to back Flange when he was moved by the Rorters..

Someone should tell him to put his money where his mouth is and unleash him as a Knight...

That would be piss funny

I thought the $1m/3yrs was:
$150k 2021 ($350k on the cap but Rorters paying $200k)
$400k 2022
$450k 2023

Or something like that. Of course, I don’t really know…regardless if he plays like he did last year he’ll be a Mounty or in SL in 2022

Knights won’t take him. He couldn’t even crack the top side for us as the current spooners. No team is dumb enough to think he has untapped potential at this stage. He needs to play Super League for a while IMO.
