could be gus getting danny to peddle this narrative to get the mays to hurry up and commit.. could be true they don’t give a shit and were using us to drive their price up
Or
Gus knows that he's not coming and then says he's pulling the offer to save embarrassment for the club. Eg.Tigers!

The Salary Cap is a myth. The way it can “legally” be rorted with the NRL having no appetite to fix it.

Firstly I will say if any player doesn’t want to be a Bulldog. If they are stalling and playing games. I don’t care who they are. Or what we need. They should have their offer pulled and move on to find someone that wants to be here.

With Penrith being the other club he could land at aside from staying at the Rooster’s. The Salary Cap is a joke.

The sooner a draft is bought in the better. I know it failed the last time it was tried but make it a voluntary draft. Any player that goes through the draft gets the minimum wage component paid directly by the NRL. So a player has the potential to earn more money. With clubs using less money out of their cap.
excellent suggestion...if something doesnt change than we will have a 2 tiered competition where teams like the roosters panthers and storm are always king of the crop...teams like the roosters have to be prevented from paying unders for elite players and pay them a designated minimum market value...

This amuses the fuck out of me. 5 years ago we weren't much better than you guys are now. There is absolutely zero reason why any club can't drag themselves off the bottom.

Catering to the lowest common denominator is just a dumb way to run anything. Git gud.

No. The issue is we have been going about it backwards. We have happily paid overs for wingers, back towers and centres but then Gus wants to lead with his ego and refuse to pay overs for key position players that we need like AFB. We are desprate for a good prop and needed to pay a bit of overs for Terrell and maybe for trayman too. Gould again thought that the “Gould factor” would be enough to get him over the line at market value or below. Again weve missed the mark. Terrell can stick with the roosters and look like a world beater and play finals footy for the same amount as we offered. Easy decision
Notice how Tyrone was mentioned as well. We went after all 3 and came up with nothing. We need decent props. Terrell said it's a package deal with all 3 if he's to play for anyone other than Roosters or Panthers. We went and put in offers. We could have said we only need a prop we are only chasing the prop. The Panther connection was too enticing. Withdrawn is the same as them saying no. It's jumping before being jumped.

As I've said many times and will say again. Gould was a great coach in the 1990's. He had star power and he had awe about him. Same as Fulton, Sheens and Bennett. Everyone has a used by date and when the game passes them by. The game passed Sheens by when he returned last year and was sent packing. Penrith realised in 2018 the game Gould loves and knows best is a different one to now. The new concussion laws are showing how far the game is changing and the new concussion laws are for the better. We know Gould's views on this and they belong in a different era.

Gould has many strengths. He's good at winning junior premierships. He's good at buying players there. He does have an awe about him that does him really well at lower tier levels. NRL is a different beast and it's a different game to the one Gould knows best. The NSWRL didn't accept Fittler's offer of Gould as advisor even they saw the Origin of today is different to the one he dominated.

Ivan Cleary had to rip up the 5-year plan and start again. The biggest reset and cleanout at Penrith happened in 2019 with Gould part of the cleanout.

Something I have been thinking for weeks is why hasn’t Terrell re-signed with Rooster. They re-signed everyone but him. Could just be the previous re-signings were higher priority, but going off the latest news, on us pulling our offer, it makes me think there’s probably some issue with his manager. Might be difficult to deal with or something.

Who knows but I don’t really care. I prefer not to have Taylan the shitcunt at the club, nor do we need him and Terrell is not exactly a gun. He has potential but anything could happen with him going forward. If you look at the reggies game vs Bears last season, Hughes and Patolo were just as good as him. Hopefully Chris can get physically right, because he can be a decent bench prop. In the meantime Damon Marshall can build up for an NRL debut in 2025.
It may be that his former manager did not meet the Roosters requirements to meet their special accounting standards!

Does anyone know who he has moved to??

I think your violin may need a restring.. you keep peddling the same shit every second post. Wedging it between some footy related sentences doesn’t change your narrative.

You are overthinking it. No doubt we didnt want all 3 and they insisted on 3 or nothing. More chance to get 1 later when they realise it will be hard to get a club to take all 3. If not then meh.

This bloke will be another Kane Evans looks ok holding the fort while the roosters gun starters have a breather, take him out of that pack and he will be a distant memory in 3 years

I want us to chase Jake Clydesdale from Canberra and Max Bradbury from Sharks.

Both teams have so many NRL middle forwards that pressuring their youngsters forces the issue with their cap and minutes for established / fringe nrl players.

T.Hazleton, O.Kafusi are perfect examples at Sharks that will get limited minutes and block pathways.

Canberra in a similar position with A.Mariota, E.Guler, P.Saulo, T.Mooney

This is incorrect. you only have to look at the highlights from the end of last year to know that. He wasn't giving the stars a breather, he was leading their pack and was the best forward in a pack that includes internationals and origin reps. If we don't land him, it's obviously not ideal but let's not delude ourselves and say he wasn't worth it in the first place, that's dumb.
