Just accept it for what it is. Klemmer is going and we've got fuck all in terms of bargaining as there's no other potential buyers and no other players pushing for a release to join us. What @Bulldog_4_Life said. The 2018 season is over and players are onto the next year of their contract.

A players contract period starts on the date the contract says it starts and finishes on the date it says it finishes. There is no compulsion to start on 1st November and finish on 31st October. Secondly there is no compulsion for the player to be paid the same amount weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can’t take a yearly contract divide it by 12 and simplistically say that’s how much the player gets paid every month.

Plus if Klemmer doesn’t train with or play for the Bulldogs in 2019, then we can argue that it shouldn’t be incuded in the salary cap for 2019. Or Newcastle (or wherever he goes) repays us for what he has been paid since 1st November. If he has in fact been paid anything. Being given permission to negotiate may well mean that he’s not being paid. Back pay from us if he stays, they pay him the back pay if he goes.
