Matt Gillett has spurned offers from rival clubs to extend his deal at Red Hill, with the Test backrower to remain a Bronco until the end of 2022.
The Broncos leader will now become a one-club player with the contract seeing him out until the age of 34.
"Being a one-club player at the Broncos is a very special thing," he said.
Despite battling through the pain of a broken neck, suffered in Brisbane’s opening round loss to St George Illawarra, Gillett managed to get through four rounds of footy before medical staff sent him for scans.
“It’s one of the hardest things from our point of view, he doesn’t complain,” Broncos high performance manager Jeremy Hickmans said at the time.
“He said he’s got a sore neck but essentially he’s got a broken neck.
“It’s hard sometimes, you’ve got to take the player’s word for it but it’s worse than we realised.
“It’s lucky we looked at it, wanted to investigate these issues.”
