What do you guys think of this idea. Before you shoot it down, think of other clubs that are doing this being back some MORE former players to work with particular positional players coming through the ranks or trying to get their confidence back. I know Willie Mason and a few others have come to assist - but we need several options. You could get a few former halves to work with some ideas for our current halves (Lamb, Kimmorley). We could get former centres like your Andrew Farrars, Chris Mortimers etc to work on some moves. As for the winger positions get someone who spread themselves effectively across the field both in attack and defence. Then you could look to an Andrew Johns type to work on our kicking game with our halves (because it’s not working). If you look at Qld and NSW teams currently they are bringing back former players to inspire the new generation.

The best person available should be brought in to assist players. The bulldogs DNA thing didn’t work and the game has passed some of these guys by.

Tbaz has already bought in a tonne of extra staff and it’s not really getting results. I don’t think staff being ex Bulldogs has any effect on players these days.

Fair enough. Have you got any ideas. I’ve read that Andrew Johns has been effective with working with current players, but he’s in high demand.

Yes maybe you’re right. Andrew Johns would be perfect but already too busy.

Isn’t Joey working with the Eels? I wouldn’t say he’s setting the world on fire with their halves. We need to improve the roster for their to be any major improvements.

I think the first step is Furner needs to be moved on. In terms of specialist coaches not too sure who’s doing those roles these days but luckily we have Gus and he won’t accept this rubbish for long. But all for the legends being around the club in some way.

He’s worked with several clubs, Manly (Cherry Evans), NSW and I think a few others. Someone like him would probably work wonders around someone like Flanagan for confidence and give him some ideas and to back your self - no matter what.

Wasn’t Tbaz crediting with turning Cleary into the half he is now? Who knows how much truth there is to that but he should be getting more out of the halves.

Furner and Ferris have to go, Ferris especially. Clubs have been shit wherever he is.

Doesn't matter who you bring in to mentor it helps a little, but if you only have crap, that will only offer shit anyway.
