CANTERBURY are banking on good old sibling rivalry to sharpen their spluttering attack this NRL season.

Despite their charge to last year’s grand final, the Bulldogs were the fourth least effective team with the football in 2014.

It is an area they need to dramatically improve if they are to go one better than their defeat to South Sydney in last year’s decider.

Brett Morris of the Bulldogs fends off a tackle.

That is where the Morris twins, Brett and Josh come in.

A key off signing from St George Illawarra after nine seasons with the joint venture, Brett re-joins his brother in an NRL side for the first time since Josh moved to Belmore in 2009.

“Having to learn a whole new system at the Bulldogs has been great, it has been really refreshing,” Brett said.

“The guys have been really good, we have trained very hard during the off season and the boys are itching to get out there for round one.

“For me now it’s just about getting to know how the guys play and working with certain combinations.

“I can’t wait to team up with Josh again, obviously the rep season was the only time we got to play together previously, so to do it week in, week out is great.

“It is going to bring out the best in us, I think I am going to score more tries than him because I usually do.

“Hopefully he pulls his finger out and starts having a crack.”

Josh Morris of the Bulldogs runs with the ball.

Set to be installed as the Dogs’ new fullback, Brett scored 14 tries in 18 NRL games in 2014.

A shoulder injury suffered in State of Origin I cut a chunk out his season.

Josh struggled with a knee injury suffered in the same game. He scored just three tries in 19 NRL games last season.

Love it, Brett is already revving up Josh. Should be a great year, if both stay injury free.
