He’s a terrible coach. Has had a very talented roster for about 4 years and he can’t get them past the second round of the finals.

Thankfully he's staying on at the Eels until the end of 2024 and hoping to stay longer after that......Somehow with this record I doubt that will happen.

Why any First Grade Club would want him as their coach is madness.....Oh forgot the Eels do.....he's a Knock Effect Cup grade coach NOT first grade.

I don't understand why some are bagging Ciraldo. I mean the guy hasn't even coached at NRL level as a full time coach but has at least been a long term assistant coach and is very highly regarded at the Panthers.

Now that doesn't mean he will be successful but it also doesn't mean he would be a failure. He could be another Barrett or he could be another Fitzgibbon who is doing great at the Sharks but NO one really knows for sure.

He certainly hasn't done anything to say he'd be a dud.

In 2017, Ciraldo was promoted to assistant coach of Penrith's NRL team to work under head coach Anthony Griffin. In August 2018, Ciraldo was promoted to caretaker coach following Griffin's sacking as head coach. Ciraldo guided Penrith to a 5th place finish and the club qualified for the finals. In week one, Penrith defeated New Zealand to set up an elimination final against Cronulla. Cronulla went on to win the match 21-20. In October 2018, Ciraldo was replaced as head coach by Ivan Cleary with Ciraldo dropping back to an assistant coach role at Penrith.

BA has come out tonight and said he’s contracted at the Eels until the end of season 2024 and is hopeful of an extension pass that.

For you and the Eels fans I really do hope you get an extension as I can’t see why any other club would sign him.

No doubt a great bloke but he looks like he should be coaching under 10’s than NRL. He’s had a far better squad than what Dean Pay had at the Dogs, don’t want to be comparing him to Tbaz, as that’s not fair on any first grade coach but his record at Parra is quite dismal.

If I were an Eels fan, thank god I’m not, I’d be PO’d with the club keeping him on this long. Surely the penny has to drop sooner or later or do they just enjoy losing long term?

They do have the nucleus of potential premiership winning side but need far more depth than they have and definitely a new coach.
