If we replace him I hope it's with another "big body" prop. We need someone who can bend the line again and handle in defence some of the monsters running around for other teams. I used to really love watching Kasiano and Pritchard bending the line.

Averaged more minutes in 2020 and made less of everything compared to other years.

Perfect example of overrated. Never been a meter eating or impact prop off the bench. He only stood out because he was shoulder charging Gallen and Graham. Not worth the coin he's on.

Hetherington will make a huge impact and show Napa what real Mongrel is.. let’s just hope Dylan takes notice and follows suit, he has it in him, just never showed since he joined us..!!! Very hyped and overrated unfortunately.

When you take into account the baggage he carried with him and his performances he is one of if not the worst signing in the clubs history.
I can think of worse signings.

Aaron Woods supposedly signed for far more coin, did a lot less and we had to sacrifice some of our salary cap space to move him on. You could probably assume that some part of his bromance with Klemmer led to Klemmer falling out of love with the club too. So Woods probably cost us two decent players after he left and contributed to Klemmer wanting out.

Tony Williams was another one we signed supposedly on the type of money that a great half would be worth. He arrived recovering from a knee injury if memory serves correctly and he never looked like playing with aggression again and actually looked scared to play hard.

Micheal Lichaa for all his hype never did much more than defend well. He had three good games to earn a reprieve from unemployment after we let Hasler go and I think that's the only three games in about 5 years that he looked like he had any clue in attack.

Same as most i never rated him, maybe plays better this year as his number is up but he will struggle to get a new gig based on his time here.Shallow analysis I know but just plays like a slug
I can't wait to see Hetho rip it up think he has the fitness and fire in the gut to make his mark at the Dogs.

I'm against re-signing slugs who miraculously start playing well and putting in in a contract year.

Sets a bad example. Needs to go no matter his form this year. It will only be temporary and the game past him.

Hard to disagree with any of that Alan. Both Woods and Williams were built like Tarzan but played like Jane.

I put Napa on top but it’s not all his fault. The coach and admin at the time bought him across to be a corner stone and leader of the pack even though he had never displayed those qualities in his career. Then you add in the embarrassment of taking the Roosters hand me down with open arms and parading him around like a prized signing only to not do due diligence over his off field antics.

Now you have what Napa has produced on the field and his price tag to that he ranks pretty highly on the worst buy for me. At least those theee you mentioned only embarrassed the club on the field.

I think the time of the lanky, unathletic, big lumbering prop are gone. We need an athletic, built like a brick shithouse, low to the ground wrecking ball that will make metres every carry (Papali, Paulo etc). I'm thinking TBaz is after the same thing, that's why we went hard for Spencer Leinu.

Hopefully TBAZ has identified his next target to fill this role

In the meantime, this season gives Renouf and Ofi the opportunity to show that they have got what it takes to play that role. And I hope they both play out of their skin this year and step up

Those in charge at the time would have got more credit from fans if we knew they passed up a player like Napa and waited to spend that money on someone better. Instead they went for a quick fix and added more pressure to an already bad cap situation.

It was a tough situation at the time we signed Napa. Klemmer was behaving like a bitch to get a release when we couldn't really afford to sacrifice a quality forward. At face value Napa should have been good for us if he'd bought aggression. Klemmer was at the time a good metre eater, but lacked aggression outside of rep games. Napa was aggressive but not such a brilliant metre eater.

The timing of Klemmers departure was well and truly after most rosters were settled for the upcoming season. So I think the club just tried to get the best possible replacement they could when there were very few players available. We might have wound up doing a lot worse.

I'm pretty sure the porn thing wasn't known to many outside of a close circle. And you'd think that someone that was pissed off with him leaving released it to damage his career moving forwards. So I'm not sure that due diligence would have unearthed his video.

It was a panic signing on the highest order from an inexperienced board and coach they were happy to lay the boot into previous admins for making mistakes. I honestly don’t think there would be much of a difference with what happened on field if Napa was there or not. Napa had been dropped to the bench at the Roosters and we still shelled out $600k for him. How could it have really been much worse?

He will have a better season in 2021 seeing he will be of contract. It's amazing how many players improve in the final year of their contract. As for stats, I swear they use different metrics to measure these metres. Do they now count sideways metres too? Looking at stats going back to 2000, there are far more metres gained now & yet in the old games, they went from one end of the field to the other.

I'm just going to agree to disagree with you on this. I'm not saying Napa was a great signing. I'm just saying that the only major disappointment is that his agression dropped off. The expectation was that he'd become the much needed enforcer. I won't cry if he's gone next year. But it's really a matter of getting quality there or at least solid or better at a good price to replace him.

Fair enough agree to disagree. I think his aggression was missing for a few years before he even joined the club and the Roosters saw us coming and we took it hook, line and sinker. I can’t wait till he cleans out his locker.
