Just a thought....get Jack Todd involvedAm I reading this correctly? You want our best option at lock (mann) to only play the first 35mins there, then play the last 15mins at hooker?
No problems mistakes like that are easy to make.
My concern with your set up is that our middles are a little on light side towards the end of the game.

Thankfully, CC won't be playing mann at hooker unless we have some injuries during a game that warrant a reshuffle.Mann averaged 47 minutes per game last year across 17 games.
Most he played was 65 mins v Roosters
Least was 32 minutes v Warriors
Generally he played 40 -55 minutes / game.
I was working off those 2024 figures & also trying to alleviate Reed Mahoney's brain farts when he gets over-tired in the last 10-15 minutes of a game.
Alternative is Hayward.
But I was looking at getting a bigger. more aggressive & mobile pack on the field that wouldn't get bullied for meters as much as we did last year.
So - that was why Mann has 50 minutes & only 35 at lock.
If Jack Todd gets his act together this year, he could make a big difference.
Yep I rate him higher than LeotaLindsay Smith should be the starting prop.
Sutton ?
I thought he is gone surely his injury can’t be longer than the wholeIs he even still with the club?
I thought so surely he still can’t be fucked up that’s a long stintSome one posted that he might be back in February, my guess is that he might start training by then.
Can't see him making any contribution at all though.
He has bedsores on his butt from lying down too long.I thought he is gone surely his injury can’t be longer than the whole
Season and more
I think he might struggle with the speed of the game. He definitely won't be getting the minutes he did in the ESL.Anyone rate Amone highly ? The two matches I’ve watched so far of him,Not really much to be excited over .
Has anyone watched plenty of him ?
Barring injury, I don't see Salmon making the 17.We’ve got to pray Salmon gets the Perham treatment this year
Hayward can cover hookerOops - 8 interchange - soz. (so 7 really)
Maybe Hughes plays 30-35 straight, then Curran replaces for the duration. (that's the easy one...)
Agree the half/hooker coverage is a problem & I guess that's why Hayward is there. But he always plays 13.
At least he's a reasonable distributor. But I like your solution of Mann, Tracey covering half /hooker.
Won't even consider mentioning KO as a solution.
Realistically, Hayes and Todd may have to wait a while. Hope not too long - they're defs first grade quality.
Hayes has a lot of "potential" to fulfil the Yeo type lock role. He has a nice pass and the size, and running speed, to emulate that same role. Was very impressive in the Bundy game against Phins. Love to see CC develop that in him.Yep ....I think you're right - that is probably what CC will do.
But ... just thought a tiny spanner in the works won't hurt too much.
I'd love to see Todd come on as a ball playing lock.
In fact, I'd love to see Hayes and Todd improve to the point where they're both in the 17 every week.
Team picks itself
1. Tracy
2. Kiraz
3. Critta
4. Xerri
5. Montoya
6. Burton
7. Sexton
8. Hughes
9. Mahoney
10. King
11. Kikau
12. Preston
13. Mann
14. Hayward
15. Amone if fit
16. Tupinua
17. Hayes
18. Young prop or backrower
sitili able to play centre is massive for us if we get an injury in outside backs
Forgot about him. Guess he’d take Hayes spot or amone depending on preseason. Good problem to haveCurran?
Agreed. Both Hayes and Todd ...are primed for breakout years.Hayes has a lot of "potential" to fulfil the Yeo type lock role. He has a nice pass and the size, and running speed, to emulate that same role. Was very impressive in the Bundy game against Phins. Love to see CC develop that in him.
I'd say Mann will be in the side 100%With Montoya or Wilson not sure. Either one. If one isn't performing play the other.
I think Hayward is a must. I like when he comes on as hooker. He's ball distribution out of dummy half is much better than Mahoney. He can play lock 2nd row or in the halves as well. Mahoney frustrates me which hinders the team. I would rather Hayward as hooker. I wasn't happy with Hughes work rate last season, I don't know how Tupinua is now. I'd like to see how Amone goes. I know Salmon can cover a number of positions and is a worker. We have a lot of depth this season. There will be good players missing out.
Anyway this would be my best side.
1. Tracy Easy selection for me
2. Kiraz Easy selection for me
3. Critta Easy selection for me
4. Xerri Easy selection for me
5. Wilson
6. Burton Easy selection for me
7. Sexton could there be another choice. I don't mind him' I think he'll improve. He needs to know he's wanted by the club
8. Hughes I'll give hughes a chance
9. Mahoney
10. King Easy selection
11. Kikau Easy selection
12. Preston Easy selection
13 Curran Easy selection
14. Hayward Easy selection
15. Amone
16. Tupinua
17. Salmon Could have went with Mann
