Barba support fruitful
Daly Cherry-Evans is regarded by many as a quality person and this is proving true with his support of Ben Barba. Cherry-Evans, Vessa Rockliff and their two-month-old baby sat with Roosters boss Nick Politis and recruitment officer Peter O'Sullivan at the Roosters-Dogs game. Cherry-Evans was there supporting close mate Barba, who he has been helping through the most difficult of times. Those close to the pair say they are regular lunch companions and Barba can certainly use a mate like Cherry-Evans at this time. Regardless of what happens with Barba, the Bulldogs deserve enormous praise for the way they have handled the situation involving their star. They are still deflecting rumours that are surfacing on a daily basis - the latest regards a photo and Parramatta players are said to have seen it but the Dogs are in the dark. Barba is having ongoing treatment; from my understanding he is seeing counsellors and is involved in his program at least three time a week. More importantly, he is working at parenting his children with his former partner Ainslie Currie. The Dogs are committed to getting Barba right - they have a ''selfish'' motive to see him play his best football again and help their team get back in premiership contention, but the human-interest factor is in there as well.

Weidler couldn't write a positive Dogs article without that little jibe about the rumours and mystery photo. I wonder what it's about?
