Nasheed here,
Are we short of a back rower with all this prop focus!??

Although we lack a sick prop we are ok in terms of prop numbers. 6 on books.

But if RFM and Topine is gone then we have kikau, Preston and Curran so yes. Decent starting 13 but we need more.
Sutton? He is in the transition to prop!!
Salmon!? Is he even a 2nd rower?
Semrani? Young yo.

Hoffman… ewwww
Morrin….. depth

If we get two injured we r fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckt

Kikau and Preston. Curran can play there if needed. Salmon can play there if needed. Our starting props are lacking unlike our starting second rowers so they're going to be the focus.

Props we have kautoga, King, Patolo, Hughes, Montgomery, Poasa, Sutton

Dogg sheet but in terms of numbers we r ok.
Our back row is good if no injuries but it will happen and we r short

Good spot Nasheed. Easy to forget about edge forwards as preston and kikau are certainties to start there r1 but what if they go down?

Assuming curran is our lock that pretty much leaves kautonga (uncapped, unproven) and salmon (unproven) as the only second row depth cover options? Havent included RFM and Topine as options yet for obv reasons. Maybe Xerri or Burton will need to do some work in that position.

Its staggering we have a squad of 30 but are seemingly so thin in so many positions

Our backrow options are fine, plenty of versatility to cover there imo. Especially when our middles are fixed it allows Curran movement if required.

If we hypotheticly lose both kiks and Preston, what does our back row look like in your estimation? Post the bench also for this scenario

Then we get injuries and need approval from nrl to being in some dude from Massey cup and then they say ‘we r unlucky’ and ppl on the kennel jump on ‘Omg how unlucky r we again’ when it’s just lack of forethought
Liek 2021 when we needed a ring in hooker rd 2 because we didn’t cover the position

8. King
10. Knight
11. Salmon
12. Curran
13. Mann

14. Utility/another forward
15. Sutton
16. Patolo
17. Hutchison

Morrin could play second row if we're really desperate

I think its unlikely we lose both 2nd rowers.

Kautoga can cover backrow aswell.. its only the first 10 rounds then any of the T and T can be utilised, like a Harry Hayes or Lipoi Hopoi both could be then easily fill a bench role.

That pack hands down gets beaten up by any other pack in the comp. Highlights we arent just 1 quality forward short we are at least 2 or 3 down.

Its unlikely but its possible and thats what u need to plan for. Im sure there was a few weeks this yr where both Kiks and presto unavailable at the same time

That's why we desperately need to land 2 out of AFB, May and Klemmer (maybe someone else will pop up but they're the obvious ones atm).
