Firstly, a little bit of optimism is required before reading on.

C'mon!! The club, the team and our fans are on a high. The Bulldogs are playing some good footy and even with our losses in recent weeks, we were in all of them and we were our own worst enemy in those games that we should have won. We are playing with confidence and the team is starting to gel.

It brings me to ask the question. Are we heading into a five game winning streak? Here is what lies ahead.

Dragons - Won

Knights - Winnable. Beat them Round 7. 36 - 12
Even without possibly Burton and Crichton, the Knights won't have Best and possibly Saifiti. I think their halves are average, no Ponga.

Eels - Winnable. We are playing a better style of footy with confidence especially if we beat Knights. Eels are on the slide. Club is a mess atm. Their confidence is low.

Bye

Roosters - Winnable. Roosters without Origin stars. Beat them Round 5. 30 - 26

Personally, I think we could do it if we stay focused and switched on. We have shown we have the potential to match it with all the top sides so the next month is a realistic goal CC should set for the players.

They like to say in the NFL you are what you record says. You can have some bad luck and rued opportunities but that evens itself out over a season.

We are improving as a squad. Defence looks great. Sexton looks like he might be the answer at halfback. Well an upgrade anyway. But they will need to start winning those close games otherwise they will be exactly as there record says. Good but not good enough.

Hope is good, and a bit more reliable this season, it would seem. I agree with you, I'm more confident than last season, a lot more confident, at least we are not longer getting blown off the park by teams. But we are still too often turning up to games and not playing to the level we know we can, too often. Hoping that this turns around soon, but suspect this thread might not age well...
Once bitten twice shy. I can understand the reluctance to commit more than tentatively to hope. It hurt losing like we regularly did last year. So while it's a much more palatable season. It's still unclear if we're a top 8 team still finding the final elements of composure required to ice the games or if we're a middle of the table team that haven't quite been worked out by every outfit yet.

I've got a feeling we've got a bit left to work on. This week was one of only three games when both edges looked sharp IMO. We'll need that for the rest of the year if we're hoping to make the finals let alone make a splash in them.

So I'm not giving up hope. But my expectations are in check.

Crazy how a large % of our fanbase said we were nuts signing him
Don't know if I have said it on here but I thought it was a bad signing when he was at Penrith, they played Canberra PENRITH had just scored Joe TAPINE was waiting on the sideline and CRITA pulled him into their celebrations could have turned into something bad, but I thought very little of his character at the time. BUT I am very pleased with him and the way he is playing an influencing the team. Hopefully he keeps proving me wrong.

Was going to say something along those lines.

If Burton is picked we've got Taaffe who'd slot in nicely at 6. Hutch and Sexton might get the nod. Hayward might also be an option.

Critta is a big loss. But switching Kiraz to a centre spot won't disrupt him much and either Wilson or a spmewhat similar player in Skelton (metre eating winger). Tracey might also get a week at centre with Taaffe going to fullback.

Our depth in the backline would've excited us last year. There's something pleasant about genuine debate on who's best in any position when there's tree or more quality candidates.
Taafe is actually playing 7 in reggies atm..

I think Ciro will keep it simple but he has options... What a luxury ay compared to the rabble we have been!

If we get past the knights pending our origin selections, Eels don't have Moses, Teddy, Suaalii and Crichton are selected for NSW... Then I like our chances.

I can only imagine some of you guys watching pornos. As soon as the chick starts taking her clothes off, you'd all blow your load and it's all over.

FFS. Give it some time. We'll get there but winning one game doesn't mean we'll be winning 5.

Calm the fuck down

Ciraldo is building towards that mindset, I mean any top 4 side needs a winning streak by definition. Our defence is solid enough but so far our attack has been diabolical, we have been the side with the most potential to attack all year. Fagons game we witness the potential unlock but only in second half against weaker opposition. I’m backing this dogs team for amazing winning streak hoping it’s now.

I’m not looking that far forward, just enjoying being competitive for the first time in a long while. I’m still dealing with ptsd from the last 6 or 7 years lol, so most games worry me, but it’s improving. That happens the more wins we get, meaning every game isn’t do or die. This next game is very important though. We’re just outside the 8 and really need to beat Knights again to possibly get back in, then hopefully stay there.

Most of our losses, I've walked away thinking "we should've won that" and "our players seem a lot more reliable" and"our players are playing for each and seem to have a plan"
It gives me confidence of a good performance week by week, we're capable of magic especially with the depth now

Well it takes like 6 minutes of talking on a 20 minute or longer vid before they have established the scenario. Spoiler alert. I know she's going to get nekkid. Are you proposing I leave the little CEO waiting in the office until a more appropriate starting time?

I believe after the Knights, Tigers, Riff game we, had turned the corner (me included) but maybe we were at the intersection with the blinker on, hard not to get ahead of ourselves after the many lean years,20240524_161650.jpg
