The Broncos have been rocked by another off-field problem after their $1 million star Anthony Milford arrested by police following an alleged altercation in Brisbane over the weekend.

News Corp can reveal Milford, the Broncos’ highest-paid player, was detained by police and spent the night in lock-up on Sunday night after an argument with his wife Miri, the mother of his two children.

The Broncos are aware of the incident and have notified the NRL integrity unit.

The drama comes just days after revelations of a pub fight involving Broncos prop Tom Flegler, which left teammate Jordan Riki with a split lip, as Brisbane’s post-season celebrations took a sour turn.

Now the Broncos have another headache involving Milford, who remains contracted to the club before his move to South Sydney on November 1.

It is understood Milford was embroiled in a verbal argument with his partner, prompting three nearby witnesses to intervene.

Milford was released from police custody this morning. The alleged incident occurred at Fortitude Valley over the weekend.

Milford will face a further investigation from Broncos and the NRL integrity unit, who last week cleared Brisbane of any sanctions related to the Flegler-Riki bust-up.

The incident comes just 10 days after Milford and his wife attended Brisbane’s end-of-season awards night, where coach Kevin Walters briefly broke down as he paid tribute to the Broncos playmaker’s 151-game career at Red Hill.

Milford’s drama will also pique the interest of Souths bosses, who have signed the 27-year-old to a one-year deal for the 2022 season.

The Broncos released a statement this morning.

“Anthony Milford has completed his contractual duties with the Brisbane Broncos,” the statement said.

“He is on leave and due to begin a new NRL contract elsewhere at the commencement of the 2022 pre-season.

“As the matter is now before the courts, the Broncos will make no further comment.”

A Queensland Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Marshall Street in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley shortly before 2am following reports of a disturbance.

“A 27-year-old Forest Lake man was arrested nearby and charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of wilful damage.

“He was given police bail to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 20.”

I dont condone this type of behaviour what so ever, and what milf has allegedly done is disgraceful in many ways
I do question the trial by media without knowing the facts
what happened to Josh Reynolds is a perfect example of trial by media

I like how the Bronco's statement makes it out that he's not their problem, when he's actually still contracted to them.

Anthony Milford has completed his contractual duties with the Brisbane Broncos,” the statement said.

“He is on leave and due to begin a new NRL contract elsewhere at the commencement of the 2022 pre-season"

Kevin Walters was going on about keyboard warriors ruining him, yet the club is trying to distance themself from him. He’s still contracted to you bloody numpties.

Until November 1st.....and he is paid by the club he served at in 2021 until that date and that amount is included in the yearly salary cap.....

I love it how in various articles he is called either a departing player or a discarded player....

Wouldn't be the first Milf to cut loose in the Valley...

I know he's still technically contracted to the Broncos for another 6 weeks, but he's really more Souffs problem now.

Could Daily Mail have picked a better picture for the article LOL?

If true, Cody Walker will be overjoyed with the news.
