he has been solid all year. sure he might give away a penalty a game but he hits hard in defence and rarely misses tackles.

Yeh but with the forward pack we have a hooker should be able to put the opposition on th backfoot but perry rarely runs from dummy half, he is ok but well past his time.

Perry has been good.
I dont know why you people whinge about him so much.
He does many good things that none of you guys seem to notice.
Its a disgrace how you all attack him, I have seen him make plenty of vital tackles.
Folkes knows why he chooses im.
He gets in FG because of Mason and Te-Maari are out.

He is not part of a Folkes finals masterplan

Generally he is a good defender, but he did miss a 1-1 tackle in the last game that led to a try. His attack is nothing special & he has an average defensive kicking game. All in all, he is a safe player, & not a game breaker ... but, thats not whats expected from him. Hes a defence plug.

no one complained about him when he used to put Paul Rauhihi on his ass

one of the last old school footballers left in the game. (well he plays an old school style of footy )
so what are his plans? is he going to do a Steve Reardon and move back to the country and live it up?

bla bla bla bla bla.. Hes about as creative as a log of wood, offers the attacking spark of a duck and lies on the players as if he hasnt been layed in years!

For Gods sake we already have Ryan in defence we dont need another!! :p
As much as i love him as a person, Hooker Roles have changed as of late and put quite simply Perry hasnt.

Ask Farah (who led the Tigers to victory last night) or Bedirus or Cameron Smith just to name a few. Hookers are IMPERATIVE to a team in this day and age and this is why i cant wait for some fresh meat in Sullivan

spot on!!! Couldn't agree more. Problem is - supporters think any new person is a the answer without seeing thier game.

With all due respect these three guys are standouts because the guys in their forwards or halves are not the stronger players. We have sherwin and Roberts who when on game are awesome, tigers and newcastle lack this - working more so with inconsistent halves due to injury or whatever.

Tigers do not have the go-forward canterbury do.

It wouldn't suprise me to see robbie move into halfback to make way for flanaghan (sheens rates highly aswell). Smith's game was based around taking pressue from his inexperienced halves.

With the exception of smith from melb the other two teams rely highly on their hookers because they lack in other important positions.

Because Canterbury's game is reliant on huge go forward from the front, we don't or haven't needed a hooker who is as creative as these guys - sure it would be nice, but it hasnt been a neccessity. Hence why to folkes defence is the big key for his hookers, to plug the holes up the middle - otherwise I am sure Billy would have been given a run.

i agree with that i think we will see a bench of hickey, te mari, koups and armit/dallas

with koups spending some time at dummy half

He might not be a superstar like Sonny or Willie T but he has been good for us, outplaying Corey the last couple of weeks and pulling off a few good hits in defence,we are lucky to be able to interchange experienced hookers.

i couldnt care if you all disagree but both our hookers are ****ed. they are so slow give us no potency from dummy half and the most frustrating part is that they both give so many penalties away. and then add brideson with them and the dogs would have to have the most useless hookers ever in fg. and the one who is most creative ngawini is leaving us. gee great stuff folkes

ngawini is a reserve grader
i reckon both hookers have been playing particularly well of late.

I've never been a fan of Perry. Just never liked his style but fmd has he been solid of late. He is a mean hitter in defense and has been playing really well. Even in attack at times. I just think the bloke deserves a bit of a rap.
