Well it took them a while but they have used the cover of the first finals game to announce the fact that Elliot is gone.

They have announced that the lost sponsorship was the main reason to part ways and that they did all they could to find a mutually beneficial end to the contract.

We will now have his full salary freed up for the next two years something which will be of benefit to us and theoretically no one can say that we did it simply to free up cap space as they intimated with the Vaughan situation at the Dragons.

It will be interesting to see if another club is willing to take a punt on him or whether his NRL career is now over.

Ironically a search of the net shows nothing to confirm he has gone.....and no email from the club.....( 9-50pm)

Oops found a couple under Elliot and Dogs part ways not Dogs sack Elliot...it seems like it is all in the phrasing....

MON - Riding a high from a win (positive press).
TUE - Announcing a new signing and still riding a high from a win (positive press).
WEDS - Players Awards night (positive press).
THU - Night after Players Awards (positive press).
FRI - Later afternoon announce his sacking (negative press). Gets lost in the hype of the finals, the game on Friday night, and then the finals games over the weekend.
Announced on Bulldogs site 7:40PM when the game kicks off at 7:50pm. GENIUS!

Will get lost on nrl.com amongst all the talk of games this weekend.

A neighbour's son used to play AFL. When he was de-listed along with other players, coincidentally a lot of the delisted's girlfriends suddenly dumped them.
Ricky Ponting married a young lady who knew nothing about cricket. You gotta be smart about these things if you are serious about playing pro sports and having a serious relationship.

Umm yeah, nah the club owes us nothing.
In fact we owe the club some respect for handling this situation in such a professional manner. Something previous boards had no funking clue about.

Elliot took the cash. Itwould have come with non disclosure and no discourse statements attached.
So you accept that the club sacked Adam for kissing Millie in the toilets then. OK. If that's the case there may be other players looking at coming to Canterbury in the future that might say that's too tough, so I won't go to them.

I feel sorry for the common man that works for minimum wage and loses his job with fuck all savings in his bank account.....SmElliott #stinkoid wasn't on minimum wage. Two out of every three year contract the **** was on holidays. He only played well during his contract years.

Bulldogs statement on Adam Elliott
Authorbulldogs.com.auTimestampFri 10 Sep 2021, 07:44 PM

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Adam Elliott have agreed to part ways, effective immediately.

After discussion in recent days, the Bulldogs and Elliott both agreed on this outcome as the best result for both parties.

Bulldogs Chief Executive, Aaron Warburton, said:

“Adam and the Bulldogs have decided it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways.
The Club is committed to supporting Adam during this time. We wish Adam all the best for the future."
