Takes time but more of the story is unfolding. We all know you don't get thrown out of a bar for just a kiss, this guy needs help, and the club should offer support to him, but sorry it is time to go. If this happened in the real world at a work function, especially with his track record he would be asked to resign or would be sacked. Why should the NRL be any different?

It’s a bit rich for David Riolo to throw the “cap space” allegation card around. David doesn’t mention his clients wrap sheet which will likely contribute to the club’s decision.

Since the NRL has fined David’s client for bringing the game into disrepute and failing to comply with biosecurity protocols, it’s yet another incident in a string of incidents… it’s got nothing to do with cap space, it’s got everything to do with setting standards and expectations.

I would expect the same on Napa, Schoupp, Wakeham etc. if they were to repeat offend or any other player who disregard their duty of professionalism.
Would have been nice if Riolo had said the truth and acknowledged how much the club has done for Adam in his rehabilitation and how mindful they are of his mental wellbeing now. But no. The club, and it's fans, get a cheap accusation thrown at them to further the reputational damage!

It's a pity David hasn't looked after his client's welfare, to any meaningful extent, as far as we can evidence, as much as the Bulldogs have.

We have Adam, now his braindead player/manager on our books...not helping.

Do we have any other of his clients playing for us?

Sorry Adam but you were given every opportunity to live your dream but you keep falling off the rails and dragging everyone down with you. If you had any respect you would walk away....

Elliott is the poster boy for what's what wrong with our roster, bog average and overpaid. That he continues to put himself in the spotlight is next level stupid
It’s a even bigger problem when he’s a so called leader of the group. I’m not sure if he’s still officially in the leadership group but to have a bloke that’s been mediocre on the field and a total liability off it as one of the senior players shows why we are deservingly getting the spoon this year.

‘Give the grog away’: Bulldogs backer calls last drinks for Elliott

Canterbury’s major sponsor, beer baron Arthur Laundy, believes Adam Elliott deserves one last chance at the club, but says he must swear off alcohol completely given it has been the common denominator in all of his off-field dramas.

Elliott’s future is again at the crossroads after he was ejected from a Gold Coast restaurant after a toilet tryst with NRLW player Millie Boyle.

The Bulldogs have stood down Elliott pending an NRL integrity unit probe into allegations he was asked to leave the White Rhino restaurant after being busted in the men’s bathroom with Boyle. The club will wait for the NRL’s verdict before proceeding, but several powerbrokers have run out of patience and are prepared to tear up his contract pending legal advice.

One influential figure at Belmore who believes Elliott should be spared is Laundy. The veteran hotelier has been active at the club since becoming its major sponsor in 2020 and helped convince Elliott to re-sign when there was a more lucrative offer from the Warriors.

During his six decades in the liquor trade, Laundy has seen plenty of lost causes due to alcohol, but he is adamant Elliott isn’t one of them.
“I hope they keep him in the fold,” Laundy told the Herald. ”I’ve never kicked a person while they are down, I’m here to help and encourage and teach a person.

“I’ve had 60-odd years of experience in the liquor trade; I’ve seen them go down. If he was to go down as a result of this and lose his position, it would have an enormous psychological effect on that young lad.
“He was going to go to the Warriors, I took him and his manager to lunch … he knocked back bigger money in New Zealand to stay with us. As a result of that, he’s become like another son to me.

“Last night Adam called me and he was so down, he knew he’d done the wrong thing. He said, ‘I’m so sorry I let you down.’ I said, ‘You’ve let yourself down’. I told him, ‘I’m still here for you and will always be here for you.’”

Pub baron says don't drink lol

Riolo is only looking out for himself and securing that bag of money that Elliott's contract will bring him. Elliott gets sacked, means he'll likely have to take a massive pay cut to play else where meaning less money that Riolo will get.

The only obvious thing to do for both parties, is to find another club. It will be very hard for all parties to deal with the expectations, lack of trust and need for constant baby sitting. Both from Adam's outlook and self respect and the clubs.

But I think it will be a case of one more chance, and suffer whatever the reality of having him in the team environs brings.

We dont have a great reputation for taking decisive action when these scandals come our way.

Adam is going to have to rebuild his reputation and career, I don’t think it will be with us but he’ll get his chance again somewhere…

Adam and David Riolo both know that if the Club was to exercise its right to terminate due to a series of behavioural related breaches, he’ll only get half of what he was getting paid which is their main concern.

The club needs to be successful to attract members and sponsors and some of the fundamentals is creating a positive culture and maintaining a minimum standard of professionalism.

Millie Boyles response on Instagram aggravates me on so many levels.

She takes aim at Paul Kent who wasn’t talking shit, but he was unaware of the phone call she had with the integrity unit and rightfully said she should be investigated.

I don’t know if I’m alone here but has anyone noticed a real anti media attitude by a growing number of players these days? This is kinda sparked I think by this sub media platforms like bloke in a bar and YKTR that are very pro the players.

Millie doesn’t deserve to be abused in her DMs or whatever but people and particularly those in the media are paid to have an opinion and criticise her particularly when she fucks up. If she wants to play more than 4 games a season and get paid more, the media will determine that because the cap is funded by broadcasting revenue. How about she takes full accountability for making the game look like it is full of Dereks (same as Elliott) and we can move on….
Good thing with her outing kent is that he's going to fire back harder. His voice is louder and the more this plays out through media the better the chances adam will be sacked

David Riolo is Burton's manager so if we sack Elliot, hopefully he doesn't act like a sook and hold a grudge against the club and try to convince Burton to sign somewhere else once his contract is done

I get the manager is trying to stick up for his player but Elliot shouldn't have been re-signed last year and he certainly should have been sacked for the incident with Lichaa's partner. His time is up and I'll be stoked to finally see him go.

Is this in a strictly legal (NRL contractual) sense Elliott‘s 3rd incident? In the 1st the NRL found the club had responsibility as well as the players, call it 1/2 an Elliott incident. The 2nd the NRL took no legal action against Elliott, neither did the club. The 3rd is undoubtedly an incident with legal implications. Add them up, in a legal context that’s 1.5 incidents, is that enough to cancel his contract? Arguably it doesn’t pass the 3 strikes test, perhaps that why the club is taking time to make a decision.

For those of us concerned with bad press it would be worse and much prolonged if we terminate Elliott‘s contract and he decides to sue. It will drag on for a year or so through the court process with the same shit being stirred up every time. That’s why we have to make sure it’s a legally sound decision.

NEW DETAILS

An employee needed a key to open a toilet cubicle door for security to remove a shirtless Adam Elliott from a Gold Coast restaurant in front of patrons, according to a report by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Sources familiar with the situation told the publication, Elliott was shirtless when he left the White Rhino restaurant after being caught in the men's bathroom with childhood friend Millie Boyle.

It's alleged the NRLW player followed Elliott into the toilets before 11pm when the pair then locked themselves in a cubicle. Moments later an employee of the establishment knocked on the door, but didn't get a response.

A key was then needed to open the cubicle door, before a shirtless Elliot was grabbed by the arm by security and escorted out of the restaurant. He was then taken out of the restaurant onto Cavill Avenue while still not fully dressed, much to the surprise of diners.

There's little point speculating what the club has counted and hasn't counted for all we know there are more incidents that we don't know about too.
