2025 Top 30 Squad

Enari Tuala taken off the website.. maybe they got in over themselves before his official announcement. Not exactly good communication between departments

FYI

The NRL actually runs club websites including formatting and shit like player profiles.

is it easy to change the top 30? or is it wrapped up in all the salary cap BS? can see a few changes to this list, but not sure how easy that is in reality.

And yet we might still have major changes to this roster
The scenario
Hunt > Dogs, Sexton > Newcasle, Thompson >Dogs, Papenhuyzen > Dogs, May > Dogs.
this is a series possibility !
Thompson ain't leaving newy this year. Unless he is an absolute prick of a brother.

Yeam where is Amone?! I must kniw where he is. Must not be top 30 or they’re gonna try moving someone on. Sutton anybody?
Hope so.. and also Hutch retires and moves into coaching or something.. interesting Woods is now Top 30..

The thing I like about the Dogs team now that its on the website apart from Amone is that theres no superstar standout. They are all pretty well just good grafting footballers who are working together. Burto, Kikau and Critta are obviously a step above but not in the same way say AFB, Munster, Cherry Evans or Teddy represent for their teams.

I am liking the idea of team first or Bulldogs first attitude and that its more about the man as well as the talent. It is what the Dogs were built on. Past champion sides never really had superstars. I mean some became high profile like Turvey and Lamb or Sonny Bill and Thurston. But the rest were hard working players with big Bulldog hearts.

I can't really go over the team and find weakness. As Gus and CC have transformed the side getting out the old wood the weaknesses are going. I remember looking at Dogs sides in the last few years and thinking every 3rd player had a weakness or wasn't performing or was overpriced and not worth it. Now it looks more balanced and every position is covered multiple times and everyone is giving 100%. .

My concern question for Gus and CC
Will this group of middle forwards lead by example for a crack at the premiership comes 2025 season or
Or do we still need 2 damaging middle forwards
I'm just fed up of back line signings

in that case then, the nrl got in too early and the club wouldve told them so.. either way its unprofessional.. the nrl signings tracker of the squads is way off.. isn't it supposed to have a november 1 update?

IMO the team needs a top class dynamic middle forward - could Kikau evolve into that player as he approaches 30? - and a half or dummy half who has a running game that puts pressure on defenders - Woods maybe. Current halves n 9s lack that turn of speed to pressure defences imo.

IMO i believe Mahoney needs to change some aspects of his game, or the way he is used -
1. the niggle is a waste of energy - works on players like Jack Hetherington but very few others and is generally a net negative for the team
2. Whilst he is often on the field for 80 minutes and the effort is there - the quality of his play slides at the back end of games
3. Needs a running game from dummy half - yes backs up well but is rarely a threat from dummy half

Yeah I reckon Mahoneys strength would be his running game. I reckon he has a bit of Cook in him. Not as nippy but scheming around the ruck and sneaking through tired defenders with an offload or kick.

I reckon we should go for May. He is perfect for us as he is young so will be a part of a young side but can also be a leader in the right team. He has exactly what we need with his agression and go forward and hard hits in defense. He would do well with Sitilli and Amone. Besides what happened to Thompson. He would be ok as well.

But otherwise lets see how we go with our new additions. Plus we have not got the benefit of Fifita yet. Potentially is can be a bit like May. He has the size and agressive game. He just needs the fitness.

Our '25 squad hopefully will make the 8, maybe push into top 4.
We sure do need two more props to be premiership contendors.

Can't believe this Papenhausen thing - man plays half a season at best and pulls a million bucks.
