Do you or do you not agree if we end up getting Mahoney a year early would be a gain ?
If we can't make space in another way would you still rather go without Mahoney to keep Cotric ?
Cotric is a classy winger, but do you think it's cap smart to spent 1.2 millions on 2 wingers ?
We have seen it for the last few years without a real modern day hooker our game has been way too slow by the time our hookers passed the ball from dummy half on new year's day the wingers receive it on the next Christmas Day.
Even JAC possibly the world's best winger will struggle to have full impact !!!
I think it’s highly unlikely we will get Mahoney early. My understanding (via Gus on Twitter) is that the move to let Cotric go was more about being cap compliant in 2023. By freeing up his money for 2023 we created room for Mahoney and Kikau.

Hopefully we still pick up someone decent with the $450k for 2022 though

This is more my assessment of the guys we have seen in photos and what not. A couple of points below.

- Not sold on Allan as a FB. Ideally if we can offload him and bring up Ok or Lume I'd be happy. A lot more value for money and I think Credence has more upside in the 1 jersey for NSW Cup.
- We have so much depth at second row, I cannot see us renewing Stimson and RFM end of this year or ideally offloading Waddell.
- Playing JMK ahead of Cook is purely based on the fact we havent seen Cook play for two years. A lot of players look unreal when dominating at SG Ball and Flegg.
- Gus mentioned that we will give Mounties 8-9 players a week for their fixture so I have filled the spots I have no idea about with "?" and I think guys like Rajeb, Eli Clark, Larson, etc. with "*" next to them will play Flegg and then be promoted straight to NSW Cup if killing it/injuries.

Looks spot on great to have a strong reserve grade team again which is basically the first grade team weve had last 3 years

Depth will be important especially this year with Covid. Throw in usual suspensions to Hethro and Thommo. Origin won’t impact as can only see the fox in there.

In all honesty I am hoping that this scenario will come into fruition...
This will have to start at Canberra by finding a good backup hooker for Starling creating a chain reaction by pushing Hodgson who is 32 now a year early to Parra who would be mad to say no subsequently releasing Mahoney to us.
Maybe I should call Gus...Tell him to offer JMK to Canberra :tonguewink:

Wether they admit it or not I'm almost certain the dogs are monitoring the situation closely hoping for something like this to happen.

Still

1. Dufty
2. JAC
3. Naden
4. Schoupp
5. Okunbor
6. Burton
7. Averillo
8. Thompson
9. JMK
10. Vaughan
11. TPJ
12. Hetherington
13. Jackson

14. BBO
15. RFM (if injured, Seumanufagai)
16. Patolo
17. Topine

I'd say at least 90% of the team is 100% locked in at this stage. I know Gus said otherwise on Twitter but he's just being nice :grinning:

Doorey would be in my 17 (unpopular opinion, I know) but he did his ACL

Reserves
1. Allan
2. Burns
3. Alamoti
4. Hoffman
5. Lumelume
6. Wakeham
7. Flanagan
8. Seumanufagai
9. Cook
10. King
11. Waddell
12. Stuckey
13. Stimson

14. ???
15. Tuifua
16. Makatoa
17. Turahui

If Katoa wasn't injured there would probably be a reshuffle (maybe one of Lumelume or Hoffman wouldn't of been signed). Burns back to the centres or Hoffman into the second row

Our reserve grade teams almost better (maybe even better) than the NRL side we were running out last year...
