It was 100% an escort, but there was no on-field call to challenge.

Ref should have called an escort penalty, then allowed Tigers to challenge it.

Instead we get this farce.
Watching the replays in the news I actually find myself agreeing with this. It is soft, but there is no question that the tigers player runs an escort line rather than a line towards the ball.

That’s my only issue.

I completely disagree. In fact I disagree with a number of "escort" decisions or even the whole concept that "escort" is foul or obstructive play.

If you are legally allowed to be on the field (which players are), and you are moving towards the ball to make a play at it (which most escorts are) then there is NO fekking "foul play"

You cannot point the fekking finger on a defender who is moving for the ball in his own right. If he changes direction with intent to take out a ln opposition player, fair enough. But if he changes direction because he is adjusting to take the ball, then it is NOTHING.

This was NOTHING. It wasn't escort, it wasn't foul play, it was just pure stupidity on behalf of the NRL to even have such a rule.

And now it's come to fruition in its most ludicrous form.

Change the fekking rule. Remove it. There 8s no need for an "escort" rule. If the attacker is good enough, he will get to the ball. Hail Mary's aren't a reason for him to be protected.

The way the cowgirls celebrate was pathetic.
That's what pissed me off the most.
The fact that they weren't man enough to NOT challenge.

If I was Tigers captain, I would have ordered my team-mates to walk off and not shake hands. I've seen bad sportsmanship but the Cows took the cake today.

Disgraceful on their part. Should be ashamed. I hope they get dudded something stupid in the finals as a lesson

Wouldn't be the first time for them though...

As of 8:45pm last night a petition of 1,500 people have signed to have the result overturned.

Good Luck with that. Once the game has finished there are no grounds for the result to be overturned no matter how bad a decision they think it is. It’s over and they should all move on to next week. It’s not like they were playing for a finals spot.

While I don’t agree with the decision, as most do, some do, they being predominantly Cowboy supporters.

NRL have to sack Ashley Klein for this clanger but to overturn the result would really open up a can of worms that the game might never recover from. Unfortunate set of circumstances but West Tigers need to focus on winning their remaining games for the season for their fans sake. To do otherwise isn’t going to change a thing and only do further damage to what’s been a forgettable season for them.

Was at the game yesterday.

Other than that, think of the amount of times my lot get screwed over (more times than I care to think). I believe we were owed a favour (or a few).

Despise all the betting agencies too.
