Don't like the loss, but everything else very happy with. The team as a whole is nearly there, and when you consider that we didn't win, that is by two points, and in the final 5 minutes. Put that into context:

- Again a new spine combination for us, while Melb had there allstar spine that has played many games together
- 9 players on our injured list, 1 on theres
- 2nd or 3rd week in a row we've debuted someone, and our total game experience so much less
- 1 day less between games, and with the travel + Belmore getting flooded early in the week, we probably had 3 days less prep
- Got nothing from the ref, no 6 agains, Melb allowed to slow us down, and though we were often the dominant team, we had the slower PTB speed average
- Which gets to another thing against us, we were the away team

I think we were the better team, Melb only just hung in there. If we play just a bit smarter and with a few less errors, we beat a top 4 team at their home ground despite all of the above

The good thing is that none of the above became an excuse, and we came within 5 minutes of beating a top 4 team at their home ground.

Considering I (like many of us) was concerned that Strom would run rings around us on their home turf, losing by one missed conversion has to be taken as a huge positive tbh. Even more impressive with the players we had out.

What amazes me bailey Hayward was making inroads and didn’t get a look in last 20 minutes I’m sure.
Would do a better job than Hutchinson.
Coach can brag about how proud he is or bite the bullet about the fools letting us down in key positions.
We don’t wanna be the effort losing specialist fmd.

6 again rule is the worst thing on this competition.

What gets me is...if Burton is struggling with conversions from the left side of the field, why doesn’t he give it to Critta. Critta is a right footer and it's easier for him than a left footer. FMD, put the team first and do it.

Pretty sure Critta is a lefty too. Sure he kicked with that foot doing kickoffs last week. Also, he looks injured so may not be able to goal kick.

Hutchinson really needs to be replaced, doesnt give us anything in attack, nothing either in defence, thought the big moments were burton kicking that ball, didnt kick deep enough, really shitty play that, burton bar that pass was real average tonight. Kiraz getting put into touch, its a shame he has no pace, but at 14-10, to get put into touch tackle 3 on the 30 is so poor from us, no game management. Lastly, Turpin, i think its clear hes not a first grader, knock on first carry and that 1 on 1 miss tackle on hughes on their 40 resulted in him running 30 metres upfield and them scoring, a real awful tackle attempt. Im hurting right now as we deserved to win that, shoutout to Tracey, Xerri, Fox and Kiraz, even hughes without the bin, who i thought were outstanding.

I think we will be there abouts, but might just fall short. Plenty of teams have improved this year unfortunantely

Kutoga had didn’t even attempt to take Blore if you watch it but the boys did deserve to win really im
Not dissatisfied or disappointed they played with heart and 80
Mins

no wonder kutoga never gets a start

but against Melbourne they did well boys everyone should be happy with the performance I know we didn’t get the points but they played well xerri and Addo Carr put on a show and kikau and Burton

I know we lost, but this gives me so much confidence. It shuts up the loser CC and Gus haters. It proves that the signings and the anti utility signings were actually great signings!
