Napa for mine.
He is more intimidating in attack. His line breaks, line break assist, try assists and tries are far better than klemmer so far. Faster in playing the ball aswell i feel
Klemmer just hogs the ball and turns on his back. Takes forever to get up and play the ball. Defense has time to set and enjoy a breather.

I'm with everyone here. A direct comparison is moot because they play a different style of prop within different styles of team.

Klemmer offers a high work rate of strong carries and the highest of post-contact metres, but the trade-off is that he soaks up time when he is eventually tackled and the other team's defence can get set.

Napa injects himself into the game both in attack and defence, offering that aggression that can lift the entire team, and has shown better ball-playing skill, but the trade-off is his potential for missed tackles.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to the opposition they play and whether or not they do their job within their pack. Without having watched a knights game yet, I think both players are proving equally valuable for their teams thus far.

Different styles of front rower, both have merit.
The obvious choice is Napa.
I doubted his signing, particularly as he was touted as the leader of the pack, but credit to him, in his 3 games to date he's been one of our best.
Good support play, can hit in defence, might not make the metres which Klemmer did, but he complements pur pack nicely.

Alright, in running some quick stats (from the nrl website's stats pages)

Thus far Klemmer has made more runs. Going by the "all runs" figure, Klemmer makes on average 0.9 more metres per run than Napa, and averages 1.1 more post-contact metres than him. So presuming all other things equal, for the same hit-up, Klemmer will gain the knights 1 extra metre than Napa, by post-contact metres. Napa has an edge with more tackle breaks (8 vs 2). He has two fewer offloads.

Klemmer has also made more tackles and missed less than Napa (97% efficiency vs. 88%). Napa's efficiency is reduced by his higher-risk shoulder charges, but they instil fear in the opponents.

In terms of tries, Napa has scored two and set-up 1. Afaik, Klemmer is 0 in both regards.

So as @Chrisaaar said, Apples and Oranges.

In the end, Napa chose the dogs and Klemmer dogged us. We are all behind Big Papi now.

Napa....he is intimidating in D and no doubt other props a looking out for him, nobody wants to be on a Napa highlight vid. He gives the other forwards confidence and he also has some offense, runs good lines and great decoys
Perfectly said mate. The players fear him and that's what we need.

Klem the enforcer. A busted Foran powered threw 3 players to score a try yet I dont remember ever seeing Klemmer do that. Nappa offloading for a try, putting himself in a position to score 2 weeks in a row. I think with time Nappa will be more valuable for much less $$$

Statistics aside, Klemmer is a much dumber footballer , Napa seizes opportunities and believes in his ability

Value for money it's not even close, paying Klemmer a million a season is crazy, he is no Taumalolo or Burgess. Million dollar players should have the ability to win games on their own and Klemmer is just a battering ram and nothing more.

There is no way Klemer would have passed to Eliot to score, he would have done his silly dummy and goose step and be tackled short of the line.
He wouldn't even have made that diagonal run.. It is either straight or sideways with Baldi.

Klemmer runs to the defensive line, gets absorbed by it, backs himself up and dies in the tackle.
Napa races to the defensive line, bounces off them, looks for the offload, or carries players forwards till held.

Napa has more potential as a "complete player". Klemmer is your battering ram that takes it out of the defence and tires them out. Napa on the other hand will attempt to go through or around the defence.. and that makes him far more dangerous.

Fuck Klemmer and his stupid goose step and knee lifting. Hopefully Napa can continue his good form.
