At 6 possibly, but 7? Fuck no.Perhaps the thing is that the utilities are available in a short market. I could handle Watson at seven at a pinch.

Yep strategy is def to bring in some players who can play in the forwards as we are already stacked in the backs who have experience particularly grand final winning experience also they seem to be guys Gus just likes. Salmon may be a CC pick but was Watson and Sio def Gus picks.I think the strategy here is to contract experienced players from winning teams into 2024 top loading contracts for two seasons and bottom out they’re contracts in 2025 to make a play for some big guns… my take.
I reckon he be okAt 6 possibly, but 7? Fuck no.
He can't pass and can't kick. He's a great runner though. That's why 6 or, ideally, 14 is his best spot IMO.I reckon he be ok
I think a Kurt Sherlock played for the roosters during the 80sAll we need now is to sign a player called Sherlock...
I think he can pass and kick was a NSW rep in juniors played rugby as a schoolboy he had some Achilles injuries that have challenged him but has overcome them. I think if we could get him right could be very handy. He can't pass and can't kick. He's a great runner though. That's why 6 or, ideally, 14 is his best spot IMO.
Is he still available?I think a Kurt Sherlock played for the roosters during the 80s
Yup the KiwiI think a Kurt Sherlock played for the roosters during the 80s
Yep, just adding to this:Gus confirmed on 100% footy tonight about Watson, he is also meeting Watson and his manager tomorrow to go over the results of the medicals. Was very surprised at how open he was on the show talking about it.
Great summary. Sounds pretty risky to be honest. Guessing minimum wage but still it's a top 30 spot and needs to get on the field.. we've just endured a season full of injuries now willingly taking gambles on players with question marks on their durability to add to the ones we already have who are in that same boat..Yep, just adding to this:
- Watson was off-contract and considering a Super League offer
- Gus saw this as opportunity to meet with him, as he thinks he is still NRL quality
- Says he is a lovely bloke with good utility prospects
- The main rationale for signing him is that he's a professional footballer, from a professional club, who has been in really good systems
- He is trying to fill the squad with these types of players that are competitive, know the game, and understand what being a professional footballer is all about, to have this rub off on the younger players in our squad and help with their education
- But these players need to be signed at good value
- Based on the above, he feels Watson would be an excellent signing, and is hopeful to sign him
- Meeting early tomorrow morning to go over medical assessment of his injury
- The injury is not a re-occurring one, but the rehab process is long and painful which means it can't be rushed to be 100% right
- Roosters are currently in charge of rehabbing his injury
- Their goal is to have him healed as soon as possible so he can return before season's end
- Watson is working hard with his rehab and trying to return for the Roosters before season's end, ("as he should")
- Gould doesn't want to interfere in what Roosters are doing with him at the moment, so Dogs would have no say or control over his rehab until he became a bulldog
- The contract offer would therefore have protections in it that:
- The rehab was done properly
- He'd be right to train by at least early next year and be right for the first trial
I believe that eventually, after a lot of negotiating, the RLPA will get what they ask for which is Top 40. Why? Because it is reasonable, sensible and supported by the facts, noting that we used 36 players this year so far. Plus, if the NRL is serious about HIA then 30 players isn’t going to cut it, and that’s very bad PR for the NRL.Great summary. Sounds pretty risky to be honest. Guessing minimum wage but still it's a top 30 spot and needs to get on the field.. we've just endured a season full of injuries now willingly taking gambles on players with question marks on their durability to add to the ones we already have who are in that same boat..
Fuck yeh..a premiership and origin winning coach, highly revered in the game, currently on a mil and change a year and owns a small stable of racehorses or shares in same...sign me up cuz.We just want to be like the almighty Gus
Tino for sure!! I have been watching Haas lately yes he’s a meter eater but there is no sting in his defence. Where as Tino hits to hurt yaI don’t mind all these bullshit depth signings if there is a big fish soon. Cmon Haas or Tino!!
It looks like he's finally made it to Belmore...Yep, just adding to this:

CC doesn't believe in positions apparently. We're going to start 13 players that just run all over the field.
On his podcast apparently..
Said that whoever signs Haas if he doesn’t stay at the Broncos will be paying top dollar and won’t have the team to win the comp
