Dogs have 3 players in the worst 20. Waddel, Mahoney (due to missed tackles) abdalamoti who is offical ranked the worst of the lot.

kiraz gets a nod as the hardest working player.

Sutton gets a nice nod as the most involved player in the comp (runs, tackles and support play).

nice read if you have time.

Our fans don't want to talk about it but Mahoney being bounced around like a pinball in defence is kind of a big deal.
Would help if he had some fit forwards to help him out.... he isn't that big and has blokes 115kg running at him for 80 minutes. Should we just ignore the fact that he has most 40/20s in the nrl?

It’s a misleading stat, Reed leads the defensive line, he’s making a lot of tackles under fatigue, hes trying to put on big shots to inspire his team, practically doing everything he can to will his side to victory…. That comes with some missed tackles, wouldn’t swap him for anyone.

miss tackles are a problem when they lead to something, e.g. more metres or a line break. Eye test wise he looks like a speed bump in defence (not hating on him).

Read the article. You will see Mahoney just under harry grant for contributions. It’s a nice place to be. Give him some assistance in the middle and he will be even better.

The multiple penalties the refs dish out to us and the foul play the opposition get away with don't help us.
You just need to play better and overcome. It’s not like refs don’t get told the penalty count. Against the titans it was like 6-1 to them at half time. Reg knew he needed to even that up. We rode it home.

Stats never tell the true story, just a number. Ryan Sutton is a perfect example, imo, he’s been bog average yet he leads some stats, go figure?

Mick Ennis was the same. He was a speed bump especially at origin level. Ironically our best defending hookers (Lichaa and JMK) in more recent times have been worse players than Reed. Reality is Reed is too small to be really effective in D and has to make up for this shortfall in other areas.
