Pros
1. Mahoney and Preston
2. 90% completion 37 sets

Cons
1. Flanagan - Still clueless
2. Will they just bite the bullet and play Josh at 7.
I've been one of Flanagan's biggest critics but he had a good first half.

Yes, if you're Penrith or a few others entrenched in the Top 4, maybe it is "just a trial".
To a team/club that has learned to lose over the last 5+ years, it is a stake in the ground.
Some confidence in the new systems and philosophy that's been introduced over this pre-season.
So much better than what Barrett put out on the field this time last year.
There is hope...
Watching last years trials I knew we were in for a long season. This year in the first 20 I seen more from the team than the last 5 years in total. So yes positive signs for sure

Even though JMK had a decent back to last year, the service from Lou stood out like a third ball on a greyhound. He is lightyears ahead of Marshall-King and that is one of the areas the pilchards will falter.

Very excited for mahoney this year. Some really good signs with Preston and Pele. Fitness for the whole squad seemed to be good, but that might also be due to playing quarters/extended squad.

massive fan of the all blue strip too

Was nice to see on telecast after the game, John Khoury down on the field congratulating the players and chatting with them.

Was a lot to like about todays game. We looked far more "alive" on the field, and you felt something was going to happen every time we had ball in hand.

Was impressed with:
- How light Pele is on his feet for a big man.
- How Okunbor and Flanno appear to have improved.
- How well Sutton went.
- How good Preston looked out there.
- Averillo sliding across field from centre to setup a try.
- Thompson looks like he's going to have a new lease on Bulldogs life.
- Reynolds looked like he never left.

We played a raiders reserve team against more than half our first grade team

Anything less than a dominant display would have you worried

The trial served its purpose by getting some conditioning into the players with no injuries.

This week against the sharks might tell us more than what this trial did but definitely good signs
