just got to hope he isn't going to be a Baz... eventually you'll get one that's a very good coach. I'm just sick of hoping which is the biggest problem... I still think we need an experienced coach, but I'll be behind Ciraldo, at least at the start, if he's appointed.
Let’s be real man we can afford to hope that he will be good enough and the club can’t either the amount of money they would have lost on merch, ticket sales , memberships would be unreal if he surprised if this news is legit and they took another gamble like this

Just because Baz was a failure, doesn't mean Ciraldo will be. They're completely different styles of coaches. At least Ciraldo is a good defensive coach. He wouldn't be my top choice but I'll support the decision. As long as we get good assistants around him and Potter is heavily involved, it might work out well. Fitzgibbon is a first year coach and former assistant and his team is in the top 4..

This is the first proof that shows Canterbury are closing in on the services of highly sought-after Panthers assistant coach Cameron Ciraldo.

Nine Entertainment was today sent a photo of Ciraldo at a meeting with Bulldogs powerbroker Craig Laundy, the son of major sponsor Arthur Laundy, as well as Ciraldo’s agent, George Mimis.

The trio met at The Locker Room bar at Sydney Olympic Park for lunch and a beer. Speculation has been rife for the past couple of weeks that the Bulldogs are circling Ciraldo and that a deal is to be offered imminently.

Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould and Ciraldo were made aware of the photo on Wednesday night. It is claimed the lunch began as a meeting between Ciraldo, Mimis and his accountant before Laundy joined them. Laundy owns The Locker Room pub where they met.

While the club has denied interest in Ciraldo, it will be hard to maintain that line following this meeting.

If Gould was to land Ciraldo’s services, it would be a significant coup for the long-suffering club. Ciraldo has been in the headlines for the past six weeks after Wests Tigers made him their No.1 target to replace the departed Michael Maguire.

The Tigers offered Ciraldo a five-year deal to join the club as head coach from next season, but the 37-year-old knocked back the offer.

As reported by The Sun-Herald last week, Ciraldo was later approached by the club for a second time, with Tigers powerbrokers enquiring about whether he would be interested in serving a two-year apprenticeship under Tim Sheens before taking over as head coach in 2025 when the roster had been overhauled.

Ciraldo rejected the second proposal from the Tigers and has since been in dialogue with the Bulldogs.

Speaking on Wide World of Sports’ Six Tackles with Gus podcast four weeks ago, Gould said that he wanted to get the club in order before opening discussions with a prospective coach.

He has been working hard behind the scenes to get the roster and pathways in order. He is now focused on securing a coach.

“We’re trying to get our club right so that when I do ask someone they say yes immediately because they can see what we’re doing,” Gould said on the podcast.

We’ve got a lot of things to fix up. A lot of things. It’s going to be great. Bulldogs are a big club, it’s a great club. I know it’s been down for a long time, but it’s going to turn around, I promise you.

“It’s not going to happen overnight. I don’t want to be going out and asking coaches and them going, ‘I don’t know, it will be too hard’

I have a sinking feeling this mail is on the money. Really disappointing if true. Potter has done amazing things in a short time, has Bulldogs pedigree, and we shun him for un unproven assistant. So pissed off.
