Had a crack at looking at this year vs next years roster and proposed changes I'd make. I don't know the ins and outs of the cap but just kept it to 30 players and getting the thing under 10 mil.

My changes aren't drastic but there are also ones like looking to get rid of Thompson or Jackson that will improve the state of the roster dramatically,

  • Don't resign - Dufty, Katoa, RFM, Stimson, Vaughan, Wakeham
  • Released - Allan, JMK
  • Signed - Mahoney, Kikau, Sutton
  • To sign - Jayden Campbell
  • Promote - Kiraz, Hayward, Rajab, Toia

Of the unsigned id only seek to keep Vaughn at a reasonable price
Id be exploring ways to move on Thompson Burns Naden Flanagan Averillo Seumanufagai Patolo Okunbor Cook JMK

Releasing players/ clubs from contracts needs lots of moving parts to fall into place

All the while ensuring that those released are replaced for far better, or at least equal but cheaper.

I can't see the Titans letting go of Campbell, he's not off contract until 2025. I still think they'll play him even with Foran signing.

I have a very similar "don't re-sign" and release list but it's going to be difficult to move on Allan. I'd throw Flanagan in there too but same issue.

Vaughan unlucky to be moved on but I think we need salary cap space (especially if we want another signing or 2). I think it'll be too hard to move Thompson on.

I'd go something like this

1. Averillo
2. JAC
3. Schoupp
4. Alamoti
5. Kiraz
6. Burton
7. BBO
8. Thompson
9. Mahoney
10. King
11. Kikau
12. TPJ
13. Jackson

14. Doorey
15. Sutton
16. Patolo
17. Topine

Transfer Targets
1. Matterson - quality ball playing lock
2. CNK - steel effort experienced fullback

The dream would be Munster and Walsh for 2024 but that's very unlikely.

Burton needs an experienced half alongside him. Sell everything and buy Munster with an early release. We gave those Assholes Reimis without getting anything back m

We can't just release Allan unless we pay his full salary. He has another year left on his deal.. If he's moved on, he'd have to agree and negotiating between the clubs of what percentage of his deal would be paid would need to be worked out.
Hopefully ..... enter Wayne Bennett and the Dolphins.

You'd think it's a chance as Bennett coached him at Souths but it hasn't happened yet despite Allan being available. Either they're not interested or they're waiting to see what happens with higher priority targets first.

the bloke's made of paper
"so is Foran". You get him cheap (~350k) and for ~2 years. I think he's unlucky. No other options on the market, he's not really on the market himself, just depends what Raiders do with Savage.

Not all have to be replaced by better BUT if most are replaced by cheaper more dollars are available to spend on better in key positions. Need more emphasis on finding players on the way up in terms of ability n performance and less on finding those that have reached their peak as bench or depth players. Fullback, Half and front row.

Given he's not off contract a quick call to his mgr would probably be enough, given how desperate they will be for players they're probably focussed on marquee players at the moment before they finish filling the squad.

No offence but things aren't that easy.

Firstly Vaughan is doing more work than Thommo, why he wouldn't be retained on another year or two deal is beyond me. He provides much better value than some of the overpaid hacks.

If JMK gets a deal elsewhere he will go which is great, we'll need to paid most of Allan's deal to play elsewhere, it was just a stupid deal but I doubt he goes anywhere unless Skeletor gets desperate later this year.

Jayden Campbell is signed with the Titans until the end of 2024.

Am I the only one that thinks JAC at 1 sniffing around the ruck looking for offloads especially off TPJ would gets our points ticking along?

JMK gets the offload & looks like a f{}cking stunned mullet, whilst Dufty isn’t a fan of the contact.

Surely T Ballz needs to shake things up a little ffs

I reckon this is the way to go. Still not top 4 though, especially with flanno as 7 but at least its a decent fullback, strike centre, ball playing 13, decent edge backrower in Aitken to partner Kikau. Dont think we can afford them all though

Addo-Carr was at centre late in the game a few times last week which led to a few half breaks. Hopefully they keep trying things like this and at least give him short stints of games at fullback to get him more involved.

Drinky good shout but looks like he's got the Cowboys fullback spot. Hammer isn't a fullback either imo.
