Different point of view - our forwards did their job, the problem was more with our backs.
1. The run metres argument, only 2 Manly forwards got over 100, Tapau (123) and Keppie (105). Walker got over 100 off the bench but he is more of a utility. That is despite Manly having more of the ball. Our forwards were fine for their run metres. Of our backs only Dufty and JAC made over 100m. This wasn't a game with a lot of run metres in it, so that is a poor metric to make a judgement based on.
2. Defense - our forwards were entitled to get a bit of a break after all the work they did defending our line. They were immense.
3. Errors - our forwards made 2 errors between them. Our backs made 8.
What we failed to do was click in attack, our forwards did manage to get us into position a few times and we couldn't even get a repeat set. We need our backs to finish things off for us. Our forwards are largely what we have going for us right now, along with Burton's long bombs. We need a better distributing lock than what JJ offers, and we need our backs combining like Dufty and Burns did 6 or 7 times a game instead of just once.
