It’s a shame that young half we had couple of years back went awol. Will Kerr I think his name was, had massive raps on him coming through. He would of been first grade by now.

Gus has said previously about making a half within the club, I just hope they don’t continue to waste their time on Averillo as half.

This year they should either put Wakeham or BBO as half and leave the combo with Burton for a year. No chopping or changing.

If they don’t offer anything then you’d hope they would sign an older half as interim until the young blokes get old enough. Sezer would even be better then Averillo as a half.

Here are the stats from some of Sutton's games last season. He had several other games with similar stats.. He's very consistent and can play huge minutes..

Round 3 vs Warriors: Prop: 73 minutes, 1 try, 1 LB, 51 tackles, 3 missed, 200 metres, 2 TBs

Round 4 vs Titans: Lock: 64 minutes, 1 try, 1 LB, 40 tackles, 5 missed, 180 metres, 3 TBs

Round 6 vs Parra: Prop: 74 minutes, 45 tackles, 3 missed, 153 metres

Round 7 vs Nth Qld: Lock: 58 minutes, 41 tackles, 2 missed, 108 metres, 1 TB, 1 Offload

Round 17 vs Manly: Lock: 56 minutes, 30 tackles, 2 missed, 192 metres, 2 TBs
I hope we get rid off Thompson. 800k is way too much for a player of his level. I would definitely splash the cash at a specialist fullback like latrell, ball playing lock talent similar to yeo, radley, murray and some better known defensive players who bring great standards into clubs. I trust phil and the board to make good decisions although resigning okunbor was a forgettable one. Also sack baz and his fraud of a ‘coaching’ staff.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet but……we really need to recruit a 7

Any hope of us bringing George Williams back to Oz ? Had a fallout with Ricky Stuart and he said in a recent interview he wouldn't rule out a return to the NRL

With Doorey and a few other good forwards coming through, do we really need to be buying more second row/locks?

Doorey isn't a good forward. He's not FG standard unfortunately. Considering Vaughan and RFM are off contract and Thompson might not be here next year, we definitely need another middle that can play big minutes. Especially with Jackson being more and more ineffective..

Just because we sign Sutton, doesn't mean a half won't be signed. Gus knows it's a priority but you can't sign a half out of desperation otherwise you end up with another Flanagan situation.

Seemingly a good buy if it happens some of those stat's posted are pretty big/good aged 26 so 27 next year a good number and the same as Thommo I think.
Got some doubt on RFM(though i hope he does kill it), Stimson will be out and queries do persist around Thommo(what's fn new there) plus maybe Vaughan doesn't stay and will be 31.

As for Jack he ain't going nowhere yet baby!

We would also be hoping Patolo and or King kick on and establish themselves in the 17 this year.
Love to see how Judda Turahui develops too this year, though is pretty young/inexperienced and plays edge I think.

The rule of deliberate throw or knock forward was written over 100 years ago. Dally Messenger if he broke the line and had no support would toss the ball over the fullbacks head regather and score. My grandfather told me about this when I was less than 10 years old.

i sent a message to the NRL through their contacts icon, seeking clarification as this incident bears no resemblance on why the rule was written initially. My letter was not in any way disrespectful. I also mentioned that I was a former referee in junior league.

As yet I have received no reply from them, which is no surprise based on past form with them.

Although JMK and JJ would undoubtedly feed him the shittest quality pressure balls which would nullify that
We could have Nathan Cleary in our team but because of what you just said, it literally would not make a difference. The attack would be impotent and the halfback smothered by defenders because of these 2 idiots and their poor and slow service/getting in the way/wrong options etc. As important as a halfback is and I really wish we had a good one, it almost becomes invalid if JMK keeps the 9 jersey - until 23 when Reed comes across. Jackson has to touch the ball as little as often and just stay out of the way and JMK has to actually give good service so the halves have time and space and opportunities to create rather than catching a pass above their head with defenders up in their face. Until the 9 is sorted next year, 7 is basically just a passenger
