Why do I think of corn fields when I hear that termAnd they will come lol
Wayne’s world lolWhy do I think of corn fields when I hear that term
Quite. It's a rare good idea from the NRL. Even if they have just stolen our idea for Oasis...
100%. And if the boundaries realign in the juniors even worse case scenario the dogs get Liverpool into there catchment. Local kids will travel from surrounding suburb to play at Liverpool giving us a bigger catchment. It’s a win win especially if we could go it alone without the tigers or nrlOasis is a good idea. Council can upgrade surrounding areas...they have the cash, Dogs sell land for a profit to a consortium. State and Federal funding redevelop the whole precinct incl updated basketball arena and swimming pool. Ideally located on human highway and geographically central for Wests Tigers....and was the earmarked new home for the Dogs. I like it. With interest rates so cheap at present, the consortium could secure funding for whatever the State and Federal goats don't stump up.
Not to mention that as we own the rest of the land, things like a Centre of Excellence can be built in the precinct and really draw talent from around the area. Who knows, maybe even build another leagues club in that land to bring in some extra money.I would much rather we share a new custom built facility near the heart of Liverpool with a team that is never going to dominate the arrangements than keep playing in the heart of parra territory at a soulless echo chamber that gets used by a bunch of other teams AND sports.
Yeah the ideal would be Belmore, and hopefully as part of the arrangements they keep playing 1 or 2 games a year there, but the reality is Belmore is never going to be upgraded to the level of something like Bankwest or SFS. So in the real world, Liverpool would be great.
I think this is bullshit as it was marked for a clone of Suncorp, a hotel and casino and water park.Only 20k? Did the club sell some land? Surely there's room for a 30-35k stadium there.
I like it. Canterbury Park is ordinary and all premiere Sydney racing is Rosehill/Randwick with no prestigious events there. V’landys would likely oppose knocking a race track though being CEO of Racing NSW.I say get rid of the shitty Canterbury race track and build our own Suncorp there.
It needs to be a "Bulldogs" stadium, Liverpool would secure our future and identity as a powerhouse Australian team and is part of the South West Sydney that makes the Bulldogs. I'm hoping Bulldogs earn the matchday revenue, etc similar to the premier league clubs that own or operate their own stadiums, big business, like Old Trafford , Anfield , and Bolton Stadium.Quite.
Why not look at this idea again? Form a joint venture or at least form partnerships with other sports/teams or long term tenancies and own the stadium. Even the sharks, as much as they are ridiculed, own their own ground.
A multi purpose stadium and/ precinct - include netball facilities, a huge sport in terms of number - with the club owning land, the NRL wanting to own its own stadium and the need to upgrade what is currently at Liverpool, seems like an opportunity for some clever and influential peopleIt needs to be a "Bulldogs" stadium, Liverpool would secure our future and identity as a powerhouse Australian team and is part of the South West Sydney that makes the Bulldogs. They hire out their stadiums for other sports finals and concerts, etc. Having a stadium (or being the operator) is big business. The state and council governments benefit as it boosts economy in their area.
The travel is so convenient from all the government infrastructure investment in the area.
Yeah netball is massive and NRL needs to keep females in the game; go to Melbourne and u see tonnes of females supporting their afl teams (I think touch footy and oztag have helped rugby league but that's another topic) , maybe partner up with a soccer club too.A multi purpose stadium and/ precinct - include netball facilities, a huge sport in terms of number - with the club owning land, the NRL wanting to own its own stadium and the need to upgrade what is currently at Liverpool, seems like an opportunity for some clever and influential people
