According to FS comms, that obvious forward pass earlier in the half by the Faiders on halfway WAS called by the touchie, Mrs Badger, which is why she stopped at the sideline parallel to where it happened, but Cummins overruled her.

Hard to blame people for wondering if there is dodgy stuff going on.

I have no doubt there is a call from @NRL headquarters to let marginal forward passes go.
They just do not want to stop the play.

I think they decided to shorten the ten metres for this round to stop the scores blowing out or at least the talk around score blowouts.
Not suggesting refs are corrupt but the capacity to influence games is greater with the new rules. Last year was about right.

You are right, the influence from the refs is clearly evident. 6 again restarts have been less frequent this round which has led to closer scores.
