The richest states by income are: Washington DC (District), Maryland, New Jersey, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Conneticut and California.

Each of these states voted blue by a considerable margin in 2016:

Let's look at these states voting patterns in 2016:

California - 61% Clinton
Washington DC is so partisan towards Democrats that 90% of DC voted for Clinton.
Maryland 60% Clinton
New Jersey 55% Clinton
Hawaii 62% Clinton
Connecticut 54% Clinton

I appreciate there are different ways to judge wealth (not necessarily on income), but it's quite clear there is an obvious trend towards the rich in America leaning blue towards the Democrats.
If that's the case, what is the correlation with education levels? Is it the case that the better educated they are, the less likely they are to vote for Trump? I'm not in the USA to see first hand, but from what I've seen on Youtube and commercial TV; plus what I've heard on radio, there seems to be a lot of comfortably well off people who like Trump.

Don't worry about this question.

What determines all this is your values.

Do you prefer equality above all else? No social stigmas, think the ways of history is wrong and needs change!? That the collective is more important than the individual?

Or are you traditionally minded, religious, or admire the heritage and cukrurr of your people and countries history and all that have come before? That we shouldn't change what made us great? And if you want to be successful then you I should have the freedom to do so and people are responsible for their life choices.

^ This is it for 90% of people or more.

Pick one and if you identify strongly I'll tell you what party you'll always vote for.

I've never consistently voted for one party; but I'm an old leftie from way back. Always thought that the better off have a responsibility to help the less well off.

Not everyone is dealt a good hand in life, and they should not be left behind because someone else lucked out.

Spent the bulk of my life in finance, and I've seen all parts of the spectrum from the very rich, to the very poor, and a few crooks as well.
Not everyone makes it on merit; and not everyone deserves their lot in life. Being a good citizen is the goal I set for myself.

Speaking of left and right wing media.......................

Fox News won a court case by 'persuasively' arguing that no 'reasonable viewer' takes Tucker Carlson seriously

Fox NewsTucker Carlson.
  • A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit against Fox News after lawyers for the network argued that no “reasonable viewer” would take the network’s primetime star Tucker Carlson seriously.
  • The former Playboy model Karen McDougal filed a defamation suit against Fox alleging that Carlson slandered her during a December 2018 episode of his show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
  • The network asked a judge to dismiss the case, arguing that “Carlson’s statements were not statements of fact and that she failed adequately to allege actual malice.”
  • The judge agreed with Fox’s premise, adding that the network “persuasively argues” that “given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive with an appropriate amount of scepticism’ about the statements he makes.”
  • Carlson has long made racist and controversial statements as a primetime host on Fox News and has lost several advertisers because of it.

A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit against Fox News after lawyers for the network argued that no “reasonable viewer” takes the primetime host Tucker Carlson seriously, a new court filing said.

These line drawings look like they're moving on paper
Barrier-grid animation is an effect that takes place when a striped, transparent overlay is moved across an interlaced image. When an image is broken down...

The case was brought by the former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who said Carlson defamed her on his show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” by saying she extorted President Donald Trump “out of approximately $US150,000 in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair,” the filing said.
Fox News asked the judge to toss out McDougal’s case by arguing that “Carlson’s statements were not statements of fact and that she failed adequately to allege actual malice.”
McDougal said two of Carlson’s statements during the episode on December 10, 2018, were defamatory:

    • Carlson’s claim that McDougal “approached Donald Trump and threatened to ruin his career and humiliate his family if he doesn’t give them money.”
    • Carlson’s claim that McDougal’s actions amounted to “a classic case of extortion.”
But Fox News argued that Carlson “cannot be understood to have been stating facts, but instead that he was delivering an opinion using hyperbole for effect,” the ruling said.

It added that Fox News “submits that the use of that word or an accusation of extortion, absent more, is simply ‘loose, figurative, or hyperbolic language’ that does not give rise to a defamation claim.”
US District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil agreed with Fox’s premise, adding that the network “persuasively argues” that “given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive with an appropriate amount of scepticism’ about the statements he makes.”
“This ‘general tenor’ of the show should then inform a viewer that he is not ‘stating actual facts’ about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in ‘exaggeration’ and ‘non-literal commentary,'” the ruling said.
McDougal made headlines in 2018 when it surfaced that Michael Cohen, Trump’s longtime lawyer and fixer, had arranged for American Media Inc., the owner of the tabloid the National Enquirer, to pay her $US150,000 for her story that she had an affair with Trump in 2006. AMI purchased but never published McDougal’s story to shield Trump in the weeks before the 2016 election, a practice known as “catch and kill.”
Carlson has made several racist and controversial statements during his tenure as one of Fox News’ primetime stars.
Last year, after a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, in which the suspect wrote a manifesto about a “Hispanic invasion of Texas,” Carlson argued that white supremacy was a “hoax” and “not a real problem.”
In December 2018, Carlson claimed that immigrants would make the US “poorer and dirtier.” Nearly three dozen advertisers then cut ties with Carlson’s show.
Three months later, the host again found himself in hot water when tapes surfaced featuring him describing women as “primitive” and saying they “just need to be quiet,” comparing them to dogs, and defending the convicted pedophile Warren Jeffs. Carlson refused to apologise and invited those who disagreed with him to appear on his show.
In June, as protests erupted across the US following the police killing of George Floyd, the host said the demonstrations were “definitely not about Black lives” and told viewers to “remember that when they come for you.”
Carlson saw another exodus of advertisers following his remarks about the protests.
“Karen McDougal’s lawsuit attempted to silence spirited opinion commentary on matters of public concern,” Fox News Media said in a statement after Thursday’s ruling. “The court today held that the First Amendment plainly prohibits such efforts to stifle free speech. The decision is a victory not just for FOX News Media, but for all defenders of the First Amendment.”

Do you guys think we should restrict voting to uni grads? Would certainly shore up the left wing vote. Fuck those proles, they'd just vote for Trump and Brexit. They clearly arent sophisticated enough for democracy.

People don’t realise what Trump has done for America , but cnn , msnbc, all lie so much, they stir more hate , they take his words out of context . Biden , Obama , Clinton and hunter Biden all are the most corrupt politicians in the history of American politics . Zero Russian collousion by Trump. But evidence and actual facts that Biden and Obama all knew , paid for by Clinton foundation. But the fake news spreads the lies, dammed if he does and damned if he doesn’t . It’s the only reasons they want the postal votes to come in, there is zero enthusiasm for Biden

Haven't read the story yet to understand it fully. Personally, I don't care how much tax he paid so long as he followed the law.

All of us should be minimizing our tax as much as possible. Anyone who doesn't minimize their tax is either lazy or ignorant.

Also, in the back of my mind I kind of wonder whether these new tax returns were intentionally leaked by Trump. He wants less conversation about Coronavirus and more conversation about him in the lead up to the election. He's had a track record of misleading the media by leaking his own information, such as this:

Dude seriously Maddow
Is a Far leftist , you won’t get real news from
Her or don lemon or even cuomo, trump donates his entire salary, and if there was any hard truth to his tax returns then he would be impeached right away 100 percent . Another bullshit lie, he has personally guaranteed 300 million to irs.

Take the news out of the equation.

Trump has been President of the USA for 4 years.

He is in charge of the FBI. They do what he says.

If Obama, Clinton and Biden were all so corrupt why hasn't Trump had them arrested and charged.

He has the strongest police force in the USA at his beck and call and can't make anything stick?

In fact a Republican investigation into Biden cleared him.

So not only did his police force not prove anything but neither did his own party.

A Republican inquiry into Hunter Biden and Ukraine finds no evidence of wrongdoing by his father.

Hunter Biden, son of Joseph R. Biden Jr., spoke at the Democratic National Convention last month. A report by Senate Republicans found no evidence that the former vice president improperly manipulated American policy toward Ukraine as a result of his son’s activities.

  • An election-year investigation by Senate Republicans into corruption allegations against Joseph R. Biden Jr., the Democratic presidential nominee, and his son, Hunter, involving Ukraine found no evidence of improper influence or wrongdoing by the former vice president, bringing to a close a highly politicized inquiry they hoped would tarnish President Trump’s rival.
The report released on Wednesday by the Senate Homeland Security Committee asserted that Hunter Biden traded on his father’s name to close lucrative business deals around the world. It also claimed that his work for a corrupt Ukrainian energy company while his father was directing American policy toward Kyiv gave the appearance of a conflict of interest that sent bad signals to a young democracy from the former Soviet bloc and alarmed some in the State Department.
But the 87-page document contained no evidence that the former vice president improperly manipulated American policy toward Ukraine as a result of his son’s activities.
The panel’s Republican chairman, Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, had made no secret of his political ambitions for his report, boasting for weeks that his findings would demonstrate Mr. Biden’s “unfitness for office.” Instead, the result delivered on Wednesday appeared to be little more than a rehashing of unproven allegations pushed by Mr. Trump and his allies and media reports — which echoed a Russian disinformation campaign — that amplified the accusations against Mr. Biden six weeks before Election Day.

In the days before its release, Mr. Johnson conceded that there would be no “massive smoking guns,” saying in an interview that there was “a misconception on the part of the public that there would be.”
The report concluded that Hunter Biden’s position “hindered the efforts of dedicated career-service individuals who were fighting for anticorruption measures in Ukraine.” It did not clarify the nature of that hindrance beyond saying that the situation was “awkward” for career State Department officials, who “were required to maintain situational awareness of Hunter Biden’s association with Burisma.”

It was also filled with details that suggested the younger Mr. Biden’s involvement with Burisma created an unseemly appearance, given who his father was. Section Eight of the report was entitled “Hunter Biden: A Secret Service Protectee While on Burisma’s Board.”
“What the chairmen discovered during the course of this investigation is that the Obama administration knew that Hunter Biden’s position on Burisma’s board was problematic and did interfere in the efficient execution of policy with respect to Ukraine,” the report said.
In a statement on Wednesday, Andrew Bates, a spokesman for Mr. Biden’s campaign, accused Mr. Johnson of subsidizing “a foreign attack against the sovereignty of our elections with taxpayer dollars” by promulgating “a long-disproven, hardcore rightwing conspiracy theory” about the former vice president.

Lol ok New York Times that’s like asking a souths supporter to write an article on Sydney roosters . funny how Lindsay graham is actively in pursuit of this, Mitch McConnell and the doj Barr are going after Biden and obama but unfortunately their law system is so corrupt. Who prosecutes the prosecutors ? Christopher Wray is back to testify on October 4th I think it is , and KlineSmith the fbis lawyer pleaded guilty to falsifying evidence In Durhams investigation. I follow this daily , Biden is the most corrupt
Politician ever , him obama and Clinton all set Michael Flynn up and the truth will eventually get out there, you can laugh allYou want , but the evidence is there it’s just the judges are all Democrat appointed from the Obama administration. Sidney Powell Michael Flynn’s lawyer Will take it to the Supreme Court it’s why they so desperately want Biden to win cause if they do they can just dismiss this case and John durhams investigation will be dismissed.

I’m on the cover up, they are out to get trump and have to win this election at all costs. They are closer to getting to the corruption of the previous administration. Clinton and hunter and joe Biden are going down when Trump wins.

What about the report the Republicans published that the article is based on?

Is that fake too?

Is his own party out to get him?

What about Trumps police? where are the charges?

7 Trump officials convicted of corruption and in in 4 years and Trump still can't find one Obama official to charge?

If they are so corrupt then why hasn't Trump had them charged?

If they are so corrupt and the Trump administration can't find anything, that would make Trump incompetent.

If this nobody can find proof then why can't Trump?

The one stat that I've always found interesting that is consistent in many countries including Australia and the US is that those that vote right are more likely to have an economics education and those that vote left are more likely to have a science education.

Ahh yes. The old, "everyone lies except random dude on YouTube"

The problem with these videos is that they do have sources. But when you look further into those sources you usually find that they have no evidence to support what they're saying.
