I was chatting to him at the Broncos game, nice kid but couldn’t believe how small he was....backrower size for sure!

He did ok for limited minutes, tried to push the line where he could.

The Kennel has never been known to over-hype a player though

What they're doing is right, there should be at the very minimum two players through the ranks ready to step up into first grade, and this will keep pressure down on the salary cap.

It's why we're in the mess we are in now. Des and Cleal screwed us.

I'm afraid though this won't be an effective strategy that will actually impact us until at least 2020/21.

Up until about a 6 weeks ago ive watched a lot of juniors - HM, SGBALL Jersey Flegg ISP - there are no "stars" in ISP but some who if they get consistency into their game will be ok in FG. Best thing about ISP this year is the improvement in individuals eg Lewis, Martin Flegg and SGBALL have had much stronger squads this year than they have been over the last 5 or 6 years. Morgan Harper is a good strong centre - not overly quick but solid and good defensively, may be strong enough for FG next year. Forwards need more time

As I said, this kid isn't going to be Andrew Fifita overnight. But he is hungry for a spot in first grade, has been dominating ISP and is clearly ready for the next level. Tonight he came in and provided some solid carries off the bench, had a nice around-the-corner offload and showed some good line speed on defense. Solid. Better than Elliott, and better than Clay Priest. Need to keep him in there.
